Just wondering if you can give me the quick how to on upgrading... I purchased the A233 upgrade from Comfort UK last year but have not manged to proceed till now.
I intend to power down system, replace main chip + the other one, which one?....
Save the file in Comfigurator to FS24....but If I remember correctly I have to change a line of the code....to allow large file handling.
Finally can you confirm default login.
many thanks

I supposed you purchased the U1 IC labelled A4.233?
Yes, you need to power down the system, replace the U1 chip and the other one is U4 IC located at the right of the main chip just beside J2 pin (have you purchased the default IC for this?). Make sure you place them with the correct alignment i.e. for U1 the slated portion with the slated corner; and for U4 the half circle at one end of the IC is to be aligned with the half circle at the IC socket.
Default login will be: 1234.
After replacing U1 and U4, power up the system and download the saved ccl file of FS24 into the system. That's all.

I have now (at long last) fitted the "new" ultra A233 firmware in my Comfort 1 along with the U4 chip. if possible can you confirm this is a stable firmware as I notice a further revision of firmware was released not long after this one.
Additionally when transferring to Comfort from pc it stated
This configurations vocabulary differs from that defined within Comfort....
Is it just a case of transferring the vocabulary files in Comfigurator or do I have to download an updated vocab file from Cytech...if so can you advise which file.
Finally I noticed the external siren worked only for seconds when mains and alarm panel battery disconnected, presumably requires a new internal battery replacement. As Comfort provides the power to the siren system, is there any way of monitoring the siren's battery and feeding back via Comfort or other.
many thanks

A4.234 is the last firmware released for Comfort I Ultra, se the firmware history here http://www.comfortforums.com/forum60/824.html
There are minor changes between 4.233 and 4.233
The last vocabulary for Comfort 1 was version 21. The voice for your system for the UK may be different from what we have (Judith) called JE21.BIN The UK voice was recorded by Andrew Roberts of Iscam Systems, but the difference may be only in a few additional words. To fi9nd out the vocabulary version as well as firmware versions for your system, do Transfer > System Information
