Hello to all Comfort customers, and installers
We are in the final stages of designing a new LCD Keypad model KP06, in the same family as the KT03.
This keypad is designed to be flush-mounted into a standard European 2 gang backbox. It will look similar to a KNX switch with a System 55 2-gang frame (ie 55 x 55 mm central cutouts). This means that any System 55 2-gang frame fromn any KNX manufacturer (eg Gira, Jung, Merten etc) can be used in place of the frame that comes with the KP06.
The KP06 can be mounted horizontally or vertically, as with the KT03
Volume control Up/down buttons instead of the thumbwheel on the KP04
We would like our customers feedback on several allternate designs of the frame before we start the production tooling.
Pleave VOTE by clicking the VOTE button above
These alternate designs are shown. Note that the choice is between the different Frames only. Even though the keypad and LCD modules may look different, the final version of these have been determined
Design A
Design B
Design C
The ones in black will have IR receivers to allow RC01 and unitversal remote controls to control Comfort
The Design A will not be able to receive IR signals, nor will third party frames
There is a poll to indicate your choice. Please participate by clicking on the VOTE button
However we cannot guarantee that the most popular design will be selected because there may be other factors to consider.
A photo of the actual Keypad module is shown
This is an impression of the KP06 in Vertical Orientation
If you do not find the KP06 frames to your liking, frames from KNX manufacturers like Jung, Gira, Merten etc can also be used, for example some of Gira's Esprit range are shown (available in glass, Chrome, Aluminium etc)

Perhaps a beta program would assist you with real world feedback ?

Interesting suggestion, but the term Beta is applicable to software changes.
Here there is no equivalent. We are looking for feedback as to what users prefer in the appearance design before we start the tooling and fix it
The KP06 will have upgradable firmware, which means the firmware can be upgraded by Comfort, unlike the KP04 and KP03, so if you buy the new KP06 you can upgrade the firmware when there are any changes
I hope you have indicated your preference.

B - black surround may not show dirt as easily as silver.
But I suggest the more prominently marked buttons of A, easier to see for those of us without our glasses when we need to turn off the alarm! Perhaps the characters could even be in black for maximum contrast?

Hi
I prefer the Black with IR.
PLEASE make a surface mount box available for this applications.
Kinda hard to start busting into a masonary wall for a flush mount.
Thanks

I am afraid this would not look good as surface mount. It loses the look

I think both black and silver versions are needed, just to make it look right amongst your existing wallmounted switches. Some are with a silver finishing, so design A would look good. on the other hand design B looks better and has IR. I think that is necessary.

"B" with the size of lettering that is used on "A".
We also have a lot of houses that use white switches and sockets can there be a option for white?

Design C also has IR, this is why the central area is the black IR transparent material
White is a possibility

Design A Silver is stunning, though White should definitely be included as an option (hopefully with IR included!)

Design A looks the best to me, but IR is very important, hence voted for B

This might be a bit of an odd-ball suggestion but here goes anyway.
dcrera suggested a surface mount option.
Would it be possible for the two parts (keypad and intercom)to be framed in such a manner that they will fit into something like an MK Logic plus frame. That way the customer can choose the colour and style of surround to match all other fittings in the property.
Like I say, possibly a bit left field since I expect each market will have its preferred fittings suppliers.
Or maybe you could produce your owjn frames that look similar ?
I've voted for A and B.
Regards,
John.

I think there is too much changing in each design and since it is a modular system my vote would be:
Voice station (left module) from C as is had the clearest indicators and vol control
Keypad from A as it has the cleanest look
Surround from B as it is simple and has IR, although white would be prefered.
Sorry to be awkward!
