I have a KT03 keypad with firmware 2.001. When I try to upgrade the firmware via USB cable connected between my PC and KT03 i receive te following message:
Product number or type does not match.
Before this message the system warns me to press F0 on the keypad. I press F and then zero and then confirm with OK.

Make sure your Options > UCM connection has the "Via KT03" checkbox checked.
Otherwise you may be connected to another UCM and telling comfigurator you want to upgrade the UCM firmware using the KT03 firmware

I got the following error message while trying to update the firmware on my KT03 keypad: "Firmware upgrade encountered errors"
KT03 current version: 2.007
Proposed version: 7.016
I can mention that I was able to "Read from KT03" using the USB cable.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Cheers,
Mihai.

How did you try to upgrade the firmware?- By using a programming cable from another UCM?
- By using the USB cable to comfigurator?
- By using a UCM Via Comfort Bus?
Only methods 1 and 2 and possible with your current firmware v2
If the firmware upgrade failed immediately repeat the firmware upgrade using the same method as you tried the first time
If method 2 still does not succeed, use method 1 with another UCM and programing cable
The instructions is shown in http://www.comfortforums.com/forum4/1782.html It applies for KT03 as well
Once you upgrade the firmware to v7 the subsequent upgrade will be simpler

Thanks Ident for your reply.
I use the USB cable directly to the KT03.
Configurator is on the latest version.

How did you try to upgrade before? If using USB then did you try to repeat the firmware upgrade in the same way?
Connect to the KT03 USB and do scan for modules
Right click on the KT03 and select Check for Firmware Updates while connected to the Internet
The latest firmware from the server wiill automatically be upgraded to KT03

I do not remember performing any firmware update on the KT03 as you could see the relative old firmware version installed.
Mainly I do the update exactly as you mention, specifically:
1) I attach the USB cable to the KT03 from a computer with the USB drivers installed, and connected to the internet. As a side note, the KT03 is connected to the Central unit using the CAT5 cable. Moreover using this configuration I could successfully read from KT03.
2) I scan for all modules as you mentioned in your previous post
3) right click the KT03 and select Update Framework.
4) I typed the F0 on the KT03 and then OK on the computer
5) After a while I got the mentioned error message.
Is there something wrong in my approach?
Thank you in advance for your support!

What you did is correct. That should not result in the error
Did you see a message after selectng "Check for Updates"
"KT03 2.001 will be upgraded to 7.016"?
What message did you get?
Do you have another UCM with a programming cable which can be used to upgrade KT03 if the above has problems

Indeed, as was asked to update from my current version to the one mentioned by you.
I have KNX, Ethernet and GSM modules but I do not think I have other programming cable.

We need to check why you get this message next week
You do not have any UCM/USB or UCM/Eth02 at all that you ordered before? That type of UCM is able to upgrade KT03 wth the programming cable

Attached the error message.
I do have an UCM/Eth02. I will try to see if I can use this to update the KT03 although I have to search for the method of using another UCM to update the KT03.

The error message is not what you reported earlier ie "Firmware type does not match" which puzzled us as the KT03 firmware should match
The instructions for upgrading firmware by UCM programming cable is here
http://www.comfortforums.com/forum4/1782.html
Please go to View > Monitor I/O so that yoou can see the messages during the firmware upgrade
If you get any error, copy to Clipboard and send to support@cytech.biz

Please check my first message from Thursday Aug 29th, 2013 10:58 pm. I reported the same message as the one mentioned in the picture thus not the one you mentioned aka "Firmware type does not match".
Thanks for the additional info. I fill try to follow them and report back to you.
Cheers,
Mihai.

Yes, do repeat the upgrade. The older versions have more problems with upgrading. The new versions 7 have no problems
