This is a quick tutorial on how to use an EIB switch to  control IR signals

The sample file attached has the program described in this example

In Names > UCMs, UCM2 is set to EIB
This tells Comfort that UCM ID 2 is a UCM/EIB and the EIB commands can be sent via this UCM to the EIB bus

The Response Wizard will now show the EIB Actions On, Off, Dim Relative, Dim Absolute

An EIB switch can be programmed to send an IR signal  (eg ON) when pressed and another IR signal ( OFF) when pressed again

The status of the device or appliance can be reflected on the same switch LED

In Events > Counters, EIB Group address 2 corresponds to Group address 2, The Counter Response 2 is activated when the corresponding EIB group address is received by Comfort. This Response sends IR code 1 (presumably the ON signal) to output 2 (or any output specified)  when the EIB group address value is ON and IR code 2 (OFF) to output 2 when the EIB group address value is OFF.
IR Codes 1 and 2 are learned using the UCM/IR or are taken from the Comfigurator IR library

This allows the EIB switch with group address to turn on and off the devices using IR Transmitter connected to output 2

Current sensors can be used to monitor the device current to give on/off status to input 2.
In Security /Zones , look at Input 2. The ON Rresponse is programmed to send Group address 2 ON to EIB and the OFF Response sends EIB group address 2 OFF

hence even if the device or appliance is controlled by other means, th acctial status is shown on the EB switch

For more details, please read the UCM/EIB Manual which can be downloaded from the Cytech webite http://www.cytech.biz

The screenshow shows the EIB commands that can be sent to the EIB

Any EIB address either 2 level eg 0/1 or 3 level eg 0/2/3 can be addressed

These actions are accessed in Events Responses, creating a new response or editing an old response, right click and select Response Wizard, then click on the EIB Tab on the left
