Comfort can be programmed to dial to 8 telephone numbers. When it dials to a mobile or landline phone, it waits for a voice answer and announces the alarm type eg "Intruder Alarm", "Power Failure" and where appropriate the zone violated eg "Kitchen window".
When you receive the call you can deal with it in two ways;

1 - Press the # key to acknowledge. Comfort will say "Thank You, Goodbye" and hang up. It willl immediately start to dial the other programmed numbers on the list (max 8)
2 - Sign in with your user code by pressing *, followed by your code and the # key. Comfort will go into user menu, and you can then select options to listen on keypads, listen to the event log, disarm or arm the system or control lights and appliances. To end the call, press # to go to the previous menu until you hear "Thank You, goodbye". When you sign in, Comfort will stop dialing to the remaining numbers in the same dialing group. There are two dialing groups in Comfort - the 1st group consisting of Phones 1 and 2 and the 2nd group consisting of the remaining Phones 3 to 8. The 1st dialing group consisting of Phones 1 and 2 may be reseverd for Central Monitoring Stations

This is unlike a simple acknowledge (just pressing the # key without signing in) which end the call to your number but system continues dialing to the rest of the dialing group.

If you hang up without pressing the # key to acknowledge or signing in (liek most new users who have not read the manual), then Comfort will re-dial your number up to 5 times.

I was wondering, since Comfort only 'talks' after a voice responce, wouldn't it be a problem if the system reaches my mobile voice message? It would keep on talking and when there's no button press, the system will hang up. Eventually it will dial again for another 4 times and flood my voice message in my cell phone.

The question is, can the system be program to ONLY responce to a press of any button on the mobile (DTMF Tone) rather than voice? Tho is seems as a less advance feature but it does help a lot of the customer out there :)

You are correct that  Comfort will dial to the mobile phone and go to mailbox 5 times if your phone is off. However the solution that you propose would not be effective. The purpose of requiring an acknowledgement is to ensure that someone has received the message. This is essential for security reasons. Even if the system were to respond only to DTMF tone, if it did not receive any from your voice mail it would still have to dial again, so there is nothing gained.

You can actually get around it by programming a "#" dtmf tone in your voicemail message.  This will end the dial-out

Yeah, that's a great idea. Actually the reason i ask such question is that a lot of the Alarm system in the market that i bump to actually require user to press any button on the mobile in order to hear the alarm message. But in Comfort, user just could simply say 'hello' and the system will play the alarm message. Both form of responce (pressing a button or say 'hello') require a human to do so, therefore can be accept as a valid acknowledgement for the system.

However, in comfort, system will 'flood' the voice menu if the phone is off (thingking that the mobile voice message as a user's voice acknowledgement). While in other alarm, the system can actually start dialing to the second number (since phone #1 do not responce with a tone). It might be good if comfort can be program :

1) to responce / start 'talking' after detecting voice or DTMF tone (pressing of a button) since both can consider as a valid human acknowledgement.

2) that dial-out can be program in a different manner. Call phone # 1 once, no responce, then call phone # 2 once, no responce, then call to phone # 3... and so on (the action can be a continious loop for a few rounds). Rather than call phone #1 for 5 times, no responce, then call phone # 2 for 5 times, no responce... and so on. Can this be done?

However, for your information, i've been using Comfort (mi-Guardz in malaysia) for 3 years now and still i have high respect for this system. It's the most reliable system I known so far and I have recommanded to 4 of my friends. We are very happy with the system. Keep up the good work guys!

In fact, Comfort will dial the next number when the call is not acknowledged, it does not redial 1 number 5 times, the next number 5 times etc. as that would be quite silly behaviour which Comfort has never been subject to. It will redial the first number only if it has tried  to dial all the other numbers which are programmed.

Also, Comfort will also start talking when it gets a DTMF tone. Only # will end the call. * means it wil wait for the user code and # key. Other keys will cause it to repeat the message. Recording the # key is a new idea which was prompted by  your question, and it should be a good solution for others who face this problem.

Thanks for your support of Comfort, whether as mi-Guardz or by any other name. We will continue developng and supporting it. However be aware the name mi-Guardz may possibly be used for other products not made by Cytech in future, so please ask your friends to check with the supplier before they buy in future

Thanks for the reminder Chiu. Last time I bought it from MasterLoq Technologies but now the company no longer available from what i understand. Do you have any representative in Malaysia. Is Chipsal MinderPro as same as comfort? If i were to have problem with my system, where should i go to? I saw in your website that you do not have any dealer in malaysia. Do I have to contact the singapore / thailand dealer? Appreciate if you could direct me to the company in-charge in Malaysia.

Hi,

I want Comfort to call me on my cell phone when in Away mode and someone presses the door station.

Please let me have a sample response to handle this.

Thanks

You do not need to a sample response. Instead, I believe you will find the answers under Alarm Types. ;)

Adlim,

If I understand you correctly, when the system is armed (away mode) and someone presses the intercom/door station, it will create an 'alarm' situation and do a dial out ?

1. Will it set off the siren ?

Thanks

No it will not trigger a siren. Imagine the various neighbourhoods (not to mention the poor visitor who presses the doorbell) that will be disturbed if that is the case! ;)

Anyway, you can see under "state" for the doorbell alarm, which shows that it is set as "idle", i.e. it is a non-alarm condition.

In Comfort, alarms do not mean sirens sound and there are intruders in the house. See http://www.comfortforums.com/forum16/368.html for an explanation
