I have had several instances on different PC where comfigurator has Uploaded from PC to comfort got to 99% (comfort has beeped) then the PC locks up.
The egg timer is still going BUT it never ends - going into Cont Alt Del and Comfigurator is NOT responding.
If you close down and restart comfig all is OK there appears to be no reason to restart the PC.
This has happened now 20 -30 occasions over the past18 months - I just thought it was windows etc but now not so sure.
Also this would be with different UCM's of diferent versions the one i have here is UCM 5.92 and its just locked at 99%.

Home,
Was your Monitor window open at this time? (in Transfer > Monitor I/O)
I find that when uploading/downloading has completed and you try to close this window that often causes a crash. This should be fixed in the next version
However I dont recall experiencing what you describe, of stopping at 99%
Is the download complete when this happens, ie does Comfort RESET?

Comfort does 'beep' however Ive never been brave enough to leave it like that and ALWAYS tried again.
We do download to floppy quite a bit and i did notice that the floppy was in the drive I had just saved a copy

I havent heard of others encountering this problem with hang at 99%
It may be due to the floppy, it may not be so well supported. Perhaps it is time to consider changing to USB drives, they are much more convenient
If Comfort beeps it must mean that it has received the RESET at the end, and the freezing is only at the PC

The reason we use floppy is that we always keep a hard copy of the ccl file within the customers unit.

I see, but in future, it may be increasingly difficult to get notebooks with Floppy Disk drives, especially as they add so much weight and you may be unable to read all those floppies that you have left in the customers premises
Just a consideration

I'd like to fix this problem, but can only do so if I can reproduce it, which I've singularly failed to do so far. I've tried many downloads of both FS24 and FS34, using both serial and TCP/IP connection with no problems. Can anyone who has encounterered this problem provide details of their environment including, if possible, UCM version, filesystem number being downloaded, type of connection (serial or TCP/IP) and Windows OS version and SP level.

UCM version pretty sure its not his the problem has occured many times in the past and i have used a number of UCM's
Possibly always with floppy in drive or after saving to floppy - I get the feeling that it always occurs in some sequence of loading or saving from floppy.
XP pro
FS24 and FS34
Always serial
Ill try and be more specific next time it happens
Sorry I cannot be more specific.
