I'm a home user and i own Comfort Ultra II since 2007
For my experience, i can say that Comfort is a very robust security and automation system, exactly what i was looking for.
After fighting with PC, USB cables, drivers, serial interfaces, UPS, crash, reboot, hardware swap, low noise fans, i've found my way.
With Comfigurator 3.x, the thing is very simple, more user friendly than Comfigurator 2.x
Some days ago, i've ordered the UCM/EIB and i will switch all my x-10 components to a more integrated, reliable and stylish EIB/KNX devices.
The programming logic is simple (sometimes too simple), but you can do basically everythings you need, and integration with doorbell, doorphone, telephone and keypads is a must have.
The security features impressed me. I need a thing? I can do it. I need another? I can do. Basically, there is nothing i can't do with Comfort.
The support is great, even for private users like me, and i definately recommend Comfort to all private users, bored in hacking with PC's.

Just my cent.

Thanks for your feedback and sharing of your experiences

Have you seen the announcement of the new UCM/KNX soon to be released, see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum12/1533.html

This UCM/KNX will be a much better version of the UCM/EIB
Check if you have a U2 IC or socket on the UCM/EIB Board, this wil tell if it can be upgraded by firmware or you need some hardware changes
