Well, you might as well tell us more. What are the new benefits of the new KP05 ?
Is it purely aesthetic ? New functions ? Software controlled button beeping (hint!) ?

The changes are most aesthetic. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
The keypad should support different languages
The volume control knob will be replaced by Up/Down controls
The intercom performance should be better

It would be better if you could put a two-columned menu on the screen in addition to the voice menu. Reading the menu items would let the person to take faster actions. though it requires a bigger screen.

A 2 line x 16 character screen is too small for this type of menu. Also the LCD like the KP04 is for security only, it does not show any home control menus

As this appears to be a nice comestic upgrade, I am right to conclude that this new product will simply "plug and play" without any wiring alteration?
It is a great improvement on the current keypads.

Yes, it can replace the KP04 or KP03 without any wiring changes
However the mounting is different. It is flush-mounted, with a European style backbox which must be wall-mounted
