Hi again.
I have used several services to convert my mobile phone answer phone messages to either a text message or email. Just wondered if it would be possible or even worth developing a ucm to do this from within the comfort answer phone system?
I am out of the UK at the moment and have retrieved messages cheaply using the SipGate app on my iPhone (check it out if you travel abroad and want cheap phone calls). Although I would prefer them to be sent via email. The reason being is SipGate and any of these broadband services require you to be on a wifi broadband network which is not always possible. Where as email downloads on a regular basis and can be sat there waiting for you whilst on the move.
Also when in meeting it is easier to check an email rather than accepting a phone call.
I totally get email is not a great alarm alert process, however I am sure there is lots of uses for email being added. What does everyone else think.
Cheers

A dedicated device to convert comfort voice message to emails would probably be quite expensive, compared to free internet based services that are available.
An alternative is the UCM/GSM. If you set the New Message Alarm to dial out to SMS, then you get a text message when a new message is received. It does not tell you the message but you can then call back to the GSM to hear it at your convenience.
