| Is there any chance of adding a response tab in the Miscellaneous events menu for Holiday mode?

Vacation Mode is in Schedule because it is related to Time Programs. Reminders, and Holidays.
Do you think it should be in Misc Events instead? I fear it may not be so intuitive to look there

I think the issue of holiday mode is one that needs more discussion ........
Comforts modes (sec off, away, night, day, holiday) rarely all get used at one. We have had a case recently where the customer has asked us to program diferent options for all of these 'modes'. Quite frankly it causes too much confusion. The only real reason this came about was because we have the system operation an EIB heating control and it makes sense to have different set back temperatures for each mode.
The first problem is that holiday mode is not really a mode! as you say its just a tag onto the away mode and cannot readily be defined in the same way that away, night, and day can be.
Secondly - away and night mode have fairly clearly defined functions (i dont need to explain) however I often have the question "and what does day mode do" well as we know it can do a multitude of things, perhaps setting it up to announce PIR or MDC movement on the keypad is a good example.
Actually I recon that anything that we have ever programmed in day mode could have been done via say a time program.
What I think this is leading to is that there is only a need for sec off away night and day.
Heres a thought, could you have a tick box that made the current day mode into a mode that was named by the customer from the word list (so it could be day mode or holiday mode or ??? mode). In this way the customer has the option of calling the mode what wver they like.
By having just the 4 modes the structure of the modes is more clearly defined.
The current time programs could either have more colums for away night and "day" or simply do away with the "holiday" column as this can be included within the response under the IF commands!
Thoughts appreciated from others!

The standard use of Day Mode is by default. all PIRs programmed as Zone Type 5 (Immediate for Night and Away) are not active in Day Mode
Hence arming to day mode will allow the user to move around within the home while the doors and windows are protected.
They can arm to Day Mode during the day or evening and to Night Mode before going to bed by just pressing a button without the need for any programming by the installer
You seem to be suggesting to do away with "Holiday Mode". Some time ago when we suggested combining "Holiday" Mode with Away Mode, you objected to it saying the the mode was very useful
By the way our terminology is Vacation Mode rather than Holiday mode even though it sounds "American". Holiday Mode can be confused with the Holidays in Time Programs. It can be a Holiday, but you may not be on holiday hence Vacation Mode is a better description of the mode

In response to the above:- to clarify I'm aware of all of your points.
Comfort has 4 distinct modes Sec Off, away, night and day -
Holiday mode is a seperate entity (it is not defined in the Security type settings) in fact it is away mode with the holiday programs activated. This in itself is confusing.
Holiday mode could be activated in a number of different ways as comfort stands at the moment.
Firstly I am aware of the potential and actual (security type settings) differences between security off and day mode however in my experience the day mode setting is rarely if ever used as unless you have programmed the system bespokely e.g. if garden shed sensor opens when id day mode - announce zone.
I am NOT suggesting you do away with holiday mode - To make the topology of Comfort clearer it must be better to add holiday mode to seurity type settings (as a fith mode!) in this way the current holiday programs could be scrapped as ther is a tick box in time programs for holiday. However I'm pretty shure that this in not possible!
So to make the topology all the same why not have 4 secuity type settings the last one (currently day mode which is rarely used) which can be named by the installer/operator
The discussion regarding Holiday/vacation etc is on another post.....

Assuming that Holiday mode is incorporated into the zone type settings (under security type settings), how would that result in removal of the vacation/holiday programs??
The vacation/holiday programs serve to provide a semi-random process which is not done with Time Programs. These semi-random execution of responses serve to give the impression that the house is occupied.
Note also that the check box in the Time Programs is to allow the Time Program to be executed during a Holiday not when the system is in Holiday/Vacation Mode.
