Companion 8 is an innovative inwall touchscreen controller with an 8.4" TFT LCD integrated touch and ultra-fast processor yet fanless with quiet solid-state durability
Configurable buttons preset to open to open the embedded Forefox browser, on-screen keyboard, control lights, AV Volume, next/previous and browser scroll.
With Black or white bezels. Power supply and steel backbox included

Works with UCM/Ethernet or UCM/IR (serial). The setup selects the ccl file used to program your Comfort system

Hi,

Is any one using or considering using a Umpc for touch screen interface ?

Apart from the Companion and KT01 is there a low budget alternative for a touch screen interface via RS232 ?

UMPC stands for Ultra Mobile PC. It is a device not as big as a laptop and not so small as a pda. However it runs the same operating system (Windows XP) as your laptop.


It's a touch screen that can work  with finger touch

Has anyone connected the Companion touch screens to a Comfort UCM/Audio to get the Comfort voice menu available on the Companion.  This would also allow the user to converse with the person at the front door via the Companion mic and speaker.   Does the Companion support this?

The Companion 8 does not have a workable audio interface
Convergent Living have been trying to develop a driver for a USB audio (mic and speaker) which hopefull will give this functionality when it is ready
