Hello,

I have a sidekick which I have configured and am about to connect to comfort II.  I have downloaded the latest application note and see tht only the UCM/Audio or Ethernet are mentioned, not the UCM/IR.

I had planned to use the UCM/IR  and just swap the cable over when updating through comfigurator from PC vs connecting to side kick, i.e both using the same port.  Save buying an extra UCM.

Is there any reason - apart from the accepted inconvenience of swapping cables, why this might not work?

No, it should work fine with a UCM/IR. You are right about that the only hassle of swapping the cables.
