Last big change was the new firmware (5.72 ?)
As it stands, when someone leaves a message, the message light doesnt right. I have no idea how long this has been going on for tho - but certainly cant be more than a few weeks if at all.
Dont know if theres a config for this, but certainly not something i've actively changed if so.
Any ideas ?

You keep getting all the strange ones!
When you press the # key, does Comfort announce "New message for .."?
Is the new message recorded at all, and when you sign in are the messages announced?
Is it just the keypad message ligght not turning on but messages are recorded properly?
Perhaps the led itself has gone faulty? do you have other keypads in the home?

Yes - we only use 1 mailbox
Is the new message recorded at all, and when you sign in are the messages announced?
Yes messages are there - we just didnt know they were there with no light
Is it just the keypad message ligght not turning on but messages are recorded properly?
Good question - how can we test ?
Perhaps the led itself has gone faulty? do you have other keypads in the home?
KP04 and Doorphone only

From memory I think if you power on the keypad all the leds may turn on for a milisecond?

Confirmed - the lights on the KP04 pop up on power up.
What options do we have next to debug this ?

I assume the problem is only for messages left by people who call into the system and the answering machine takes over?
Does it also affect the recording of messages via the keypads as well?

No idea - never done that - no intention to.
The problem is people leaving messages, and the light does not illuminate - thats what need addressing here.
Been a fair few days now since i reported this - how are we going to look at what is causing this ?

We need the information in order to figure out what is happening even though you do not use the function, because we cannot see the problem.
Can you press F4 and record a message. Does the Message LED turn on?

OK, I recorded a message for User #1 - and the msg light stays on solid. Deleted and message light cleared.
I then called the system and left a normal answer phone message - no light.
If I then login, it doesnt say "new message" on the KP04, but the voice says new message and proceeds to play it.
What can we do next ?

Anybody home ? :-)
Is their a config switch that can do this ?
If not, does this infer a firmware issue ?

Sorry about the delay in replying, I have been following this up and I was away for a week The alogorithm for flashing the New message led is supposed to delete any messages which are less than 2 seconds in length, although this does not seem to apply in your case
Is the recorded message very short?
Could the mailbox be full?
Are there any unheard messages?
Could you record a 30 second message and see if this still happens?

Well, went to test this - and lo and behold - it's lost the Answephone greeting again. Thats something we need to resolve.
So I recorded a new greeting - and so far a full 60 second message does make the light come on, but other length messages (5 seconds, 10 seconds, 25 sec) does not make the light come on.
Ansaphone is empty - no other new or saved messages.

We have a number of reports about the answerphone OGM so please bear with us while we attempt to duplicate the problem. You will get a replacement firmware as soon as we have a fix

For the lost OGM, can you describe your typical sequence of operation?
Do you hear the messages on the keypad, internal phone, external phone etc, or does Comfort dial you with the new message
Do you erase the message immediately or erase all saved messages? or do you leaave the saved message? Do you have user names recorded, and how many?
Any peculiarity or special thing that you do ?
I have just checked on our systems here again, all greeting messages are intact and we have not been able to get them to disappear. Erasing various kinds of messages also does not cause a problem

We only know when we "sign in" (as the light isnt showing) - We have 1 user only on the system. It is the most basic use of the ansaphone system you can imagine. Maybe it's the dogy rattly CBUSUCM causing problems - it's a really REALLY poor design - surprised they are leaving the factory doors...not quite the resolution i was expecting.
