Yours would appear to be a different problem from palmlodge if your rings are set to 6. It is not possible for any spurious voltage to ring 6 times in the prescribed manner
Happening at the same time every day also seems suspicious
It would be very useful to find out if it happens with your old phones
Do you have the answering machine bypass setting enabled (in Modules and Setting)?
Also what is your firmware version?

My answering machine bypass is set to “On” and my number of rings is set to 8. I changed the phone over to my old one last night and didn’t get the usual 8.20 message "Please hang up and try again". I'll leave it as it is for a few days to see if it really is the change of phone. It does sometimes go a while without happening. Not sure what my firmware version is. How do I tell?
Why would my wireless phones go off line like that periodically? That’s if it is the phones.

Happened to me again this afternoon - and it was not armed. Number of rings in non-armed mode is 7.

You can find out your firmware version by doing Transfer > System Information
Another way is to open up the Comfort enclosure and looking at the label on the U1 IC or MPU, it should be ULT 5.---

Another one this afterrnoon.
Alarm was not set - not night mode, not away mode, etc. Caller rang the house but hung up. Comfort then decided to record an ansafone and took the phone off-hook, resulting it recording the BT Error message to "please hang up and try again" (cause no number was dialled).

Your problem was when comfort answered the call when rings were set to 0
Now you say that you set 8 rings and Comfort is answering the call without any rings, is this correct?
Did this start happening when you changed phones?

No, this has also been happening for a long time. Look at the first post to this thread for example. There have always been these 2 problems - disapointing that these reports are not being analysed correctly.
Im not saying comfort is answering without any rings. I'll explain it again verbatim.
1. Someone calls the house/
2. After 7 rings, Comfort picks up the line and says the answerphone message
3. The caller hangs up before completion and the phone line goes on-hook.
4. Comfort now decides to take the phone off-hook and try to record a message.
5. As Comfort has initiated the call, and is not dialling a number, you get the BT Error message.
You would have to assume this is related to my "0 rings" issue.

Hi
I had my normal telephone connected for 3 or 4 days and got no messages. Then on Saturday I reconnected my DECT phones and got the “please hang up and try again” message in the middle of the night. It then occurred again at its usual 8.25pm time and has done on the other nights since then.
Sorry but I haven’t got the firmware version for you yet. I will let you know.

As there is more than one person with this issue, this would indicate an issue that needs addressing.
The common problem is Comfort thinks the line has been taken off-hook when it hasnt. I get it in night mode with 0 rings, I also get a problem when the alarm is not set and someone calls, and Walk102227 has the problem when the alarm is not set and rings are set to 8. He gets it at a consistent time, whereas mine appears to be random. We also have different telephony hardware (but both have DECT).
Our Philips and Panasonic phones are hardly cheap and cheerful units.

Now there's more than 1 person reporting this, is this being progressed ? I would see this as a priority.

For the above scenario, can you tell me if there was 1 or 2 recorded messages on Comfort after the 7 rings?

I've had the same problem for some time now. I have the problem in day mode or security off. I don't use night mode. My answer phone rings are set to 6. I don't think I had the problem until I changed my normal telephone to a set of two wireless telephones. I keep meaning to put my old phone back on to check but haven't got round to it yet. I get the "please hang up and try again" message every 24 hours around 8.20pm, usually within a few minutes of this time. I can also get it at other times as well. It records to the answer phone. It’s a right pain when it happens at 3 in the morning though this is rare. I haven't been on this forum before otherwise would have mentioned it earlier. I did mention it to a guy on the comfort stand at the NEC show earlier this year but they had no knowledge of it.
Sometimes when it happens and Im close by I hear a single beep about a second before coming from my handset. Then the voice sounds out over the keypad. Do you think my wireless phones talk to each other periodically?
I would love to know how to fix it. I think the significant thing for me is that my rings are set to 6. If would have to be a pretty long spurious voltage on the line for comfort to pick it up. Plus it happens at regular intervals (plus the random times).

If this is regular, can you wait near the keypad and phone at 8;20 PM so that you can see what exactly happens. Is there any ringing at all, and do you hear any sounds from the phone or the keypad. Do you hear the keypad recording the BT message?
Knowing more about this would help us figure it out

I've never had more than 1 recorded message either in Night Mode (0 rings) or during the day when someone has called.

All I hear is a beep from the phone and then “Please hang up and try again” for about 20-30 seconds over the keypad. Then about 5 seconds after that the message light flashes on the keypad. My firmware is 5.045.
Strangely it did not occur last night. I was on the phone at 8.11 pm (it usually happens at 8.22 am) and finished the call after only a few minutes.
It also didn’t happen a few night back. We had left he handset off the base unit. Ive noticed before that leaving the handset off the base unit tends to stop it. I’ve never left it off for any period of time.

If you have 5.045, we have a firmware upgrade for you.
Can you send me a privcate message or email to info@cytech.biz to let us know where you bought your Comfort from, and also your full name, address and contact number

bump
Still averaging at least 3 times a week.
We've resorted to turning down the volume every night but this is a pita.
What progress has been made ?

Last nights bombardment was only a few minutes after arming to Night Mode. Never ever does it more than once tho in a night.
Can we get an update please.

Just had the other problem crop up again.
Someone called - but then hung up before leaving a message and the phone went on-hook.
Comfort then took the phone off-hook (hence it picked up the line) and recorded the BT error message "Please hang up and try again".
