Hi
Since upgrading to a new MPU1 Running 5.121, when ever i download all the sounders make a well horrid Scratching-scretching sound.. The Sounders are Pyronix twin alert and are wired too 12vf, spk- and Op1. Everything else is working fine.
It didn't happen before the upgrade so was just wondering if it was a new feature so you new when the download was finished!
Any Ideas?

Do you mean that they sound after the download is finished?
There is an automatic Reset after download, and for about 1 second, when the outputs are reset, the sounders may be activated. This serves as an automatic test as well

I have not encountered this
Try connecting a resistor, eg 2.2K from the EOL resistors across the SRN- and SRN+ terminals.

I upgraded another system to the new firmware and had the same problem. I didn't have a chance to try the resitor.
It is the internal speakers making the sound not the Bell box so shouldn't the resistor be linked to SPK-?
Thanks

I have not heard this problem before. Does it happen during a selective download ie shorter duration as well?
Try downloading a default template (ie blank) to see whether it could be due to something that you programmed. Download again after the default template is done

I've just had this problem. Sounds like a ZX Spectrum loading a game !
I've done three changes this morning (to a CBUS counter and a response) and on this third dump to comfort, the internal siren is screeching in tune with the download.

Literally only happened today - been running latest f/w for a while and did a last download about a month ago.

Its almost like a dot matrix printer in a way, just alot louder!
Have done 3 downloads today the first One didn't screech the last two have. I am only adding responses and haven't been in the panel in between.
This is really starting to get annoying, Not so much for me but for the clients whose houses i am working in. Not being able to download because there is a baby asleep is a little bit annoying!!! Can we please have a update on this problem?

The only thing that could seem to be screeching is when there is a trouble beeping on the keypad during the download, and theere is some sound in sync with the beeping
Can you see if the keypad green led is blinking and if so can you clear the trouble before downloading?

Im making a small change to a response and doing a full upload. No problems to report on the system before I started.
Its now screeching doing the full upload. Its a sound interpretation of the Hex characters being sent.
ie if there are some lines with "FFFFFFFFFFF" etc, then it screeches less.
