An outline on interfacing Hometronic to Comfort. More to follow......
Comfort can control Hometronic Lifestyles via a Hometronic HX10.
This gives 5 Lifestyles (via '5 sensors' on the Hometronic Menu).
This can be an X10 (A1 - A5) Mode (not tried) or 5 O/C Outputs (not tried) or Relays Mode (tried)
I think there can be up to 3 x HX10 i.e. 15 Lifestyles.
From Dean at Sensible Heat:
For the purposes of simplicity and explanation we'll assume the normal (non-active) state of the input[s] is open circuit, active is when contact closes.
All inputs 1-5 transmit status to the Manager unit upon change of state.
At the Manager, Lifestyles can be invoked at either or both the 'up' edge of a contact closure (open to closed) or 'down' edge of a contact closure (closed to open).
The Lifestyles take place temporarily, in such a way that rooms set to fixed temperatures during activation of a Lifestyle stay at that setting until their Time/Temperature Schedule (used for normal operation) goes through a scheduled switching point, even if the input which brought about the Lifestyle is still active.
Once all rooms have been through a switching point the Lifestyle is cleared, hence generally Lifestyles only last up to 24 hours or so.
Only Input 1 differs...
Input 1 (if DIP1 set) will retransmit every 2 mins after contact close as long as the contact remains closed.
Hence to gain permanent activation of a Lifestyle using HX10 inputs without being cleared by Time Schedules, either use input 1 with the relevant DIP setting, or program Comfort to re-activate the input (whichever) periodically every hour or half-hour say.
Lifestyles are mutually exclusive, only the last called is active and supersedes other previously activated Lifestyles. They can also be called or scheduled through the Manager Unit.
-----
So if Relay on Comfort Output 8 is linked to HX10 Input 1
Response: Hometronic_1
Output Output08 On
Output Output07 Off
Output Output06 Off
Output Output05 Off
Output Output04 Off
Then use the Hourly Misc Event to repeat and override Time Schedules.
-----
Note also that there is probably a fair bit of duplication / overlap of functionality / modules between Hometronic and Comfort e.g. dial-in.
I will try and get a link to the HX10 manual.

Also belive that there is a comms port to Hometronic. However this is a bit of a closed shop requiring someone like Cytech to buy the rights to develop integration via this. Think Crestron and AMX have done this already.

I'll follow this up with Sensible Heat when I next talk to them?
Anyone else got info?
