This is an article about the lawsuits relating to RF lighting products in the US

Lutron is suing Leviton for infringing on patent rights that have to do with wall-box dimmers, RF transceivers in a junction box, and lighting control with two-way status/feedback. The lawsuit came just as Leviton began shipping its two-way Vizia RF lighting control system based on the Z-Wave mesh networking protocol. The alleged infringement would also apply to Monster Cable, which is OEMing similar products for its IlluminEssence line of lighting controls. (Other patent infringement cases were filed against Leviton's Acenti line of light switches.) To many industry watchers, the lawsuit regarding the Vizia line was no surprise. Lutron, whose RadioRA arguably was the first two-way RF lighting control product to hit the market back in the 1990s, cites four key patents that date back to 1993. The company sued Control4 last year for patent infringement (that suit is pending) over the manufacturer's Zigbee-based lighting control products. Control4 says more than 100 thousand units have been sold to custom installers.
