Kudos Sound and Vision has joined forces with the Dorset branch of UK Biometrics in a bid to make clients' homes more secure.
Another way to look at these biometric security devices is not for protecting really expensive valuables, but as convenience, you dont have to carry keys or remember security codes.
However there are drawbacks like the time taken to recognise the fingerprint especially if there is a large database to compare against
