Is there a possibility of a software upgrade in the near future on the KT01 - the old CBUS software is now looking antiquated compared to the new.

You raised this at just the right time!
There is a new version of the KT01 firmware available which allows the Piced software for the touchscreen. Details soon

Thye new firmware, can be downloaded into existing KT01s. This will allow PICED and future versions of software to be installed to be installed.  The old firmware that we were given restricted us to the old software, but Clipsal have now implemented a software selction which allows future version of firmware to be compiled according to the Cytech interface ie without Cbus
Once we complete our testing which looks good so far, this will be released

We have made use of the 'timed programs' in new touch screen software it would be good to establish the use and interaction of Comfigurator timed programs ad the ones on the touch screen! We are using them for customer access to (for example) irrigation zone control timing. Is there a way of establishing a link between the two timers?

Also the old KT01 had some issues about status reporting

I've been using comfort 1 for the last 10 years. Now that we're moving I was looking to install the latest comfort into the new house

I've hit a snag. My wife says she doesn't get along with the old style keypads (like the KP04) and would like some "nice" touch screen. The only touch screen I can find for the comfort is the KT01, but I can find any decent pictures of it or better still if I could find a video of it working?

Basically she would like single touch control of lighting from a touch screen and arming and disarming of the system with nice easy to read screen as the KP01/4 are not easy to use for an impatient user.

Can something like the Harmony 1000 Advanced Universal Remote Control comfort?

Also are there any working demo's of the comfort web interface anywhere?

Thanks

Bryan.

Good to hear that you are installing Comfort into your new home
There is a better picture and description of KT01 in this forum http://www.cytech-technology.com/temp/products/KT01_small.jpg
It has a keypad page which you can use to arm and disarm the system and it can control everything that is connected to Comfort
It has a built in speaker and microhone just like a keypad, and is battery-backed up by Comfort

However I suggest that you still have a KP04 somewhere in the house as a standby.

You can use a Philips Pronto to control and monitor Comfort, as Cytech have released a free Prontoscript module for Comfort see http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=1490&forum_id=50
This has a keypad page that you can use to sign in to Comfort and arm/disarm the system. However this should never be the only keypad in the house.

How many KT01's can one system have? And in total how many KP04's, KT01's and door stations can one system have?

If I remember from my comfort 1 system it was a total of 4. 1 door station and 3 keypads.

With comfort 2 could I have say 2 x KT01, 1 x KP04 & 1 x Door Station?

In total Comfort II system can support up to 8 KT01/UCMs, 8 keypads, and 3 door stations so there is definitely no problem for your requirement of 2 x KT01, 1 x KP04, and 1 door station.
