Dear installers
As the Israeli comfort distributor I have established contact with a home automation solution company called Superna (a direct contact started months ago between Cytech and Superna), and we decided to try and further the progress of the integration of the two systems, which are very complementary.
After visiting Superna’s show room and getting a presentation of all the capabilities of using their different products, exercising the skills and time required to configure a combined home automation system (include Lights, Audio/Video), I found it, straight forward to configure a nice and practical system configurations.

My impression of the added values we get by presenting an integrated Comfort-Superna system is:
1.        Using Comfort with an UCMEthernet and a Superna license on each computer on the local network will turn each Computer/PDA/Media center into a home automation controller (with a customized GUI).

2.        The same result will be achieved when using one Superna ControlBox and comfort with RS232.

3.        The Superna ControlBox add to the combined HA system the capabilities of “Whole-House Digital Media Distribution” using the local network (wired or WiFi).

4.        Provides easy configuration for controlling the entertainment center i.e. TV, Plasma, Screens, Amplifier, DVD etc.

For more information on Superna products you may want to visit their website at: http://www.supernasystems.com/

The feedback that I will like to get is:
  1. What do you think is important to have in the communications of the two systems?
  2. Which 3rd party systems/devices do you find to be crucial that Superna should support, in order for this solution to be relevant for you?
Thanks,

Amir

Hi,

I had some feedback from Jerry Nachmann  @ Superna.

This is what he said :

As it stands we have been working on support for the Comfort systems for some time now.I believe we will be releasing our driver for Comfort within a month. As such you will then be able to fully integrate the Comfort system into a Superna Digital Home solution.

Hi,

I spent the last 8 months beta testing Superna's integration with Comfort together with the support from the technical staff from Superna.

There were some issues with the product and after much testing I am happy report that I find the system to be very stable.

I did a complete Windows Vista Media Center integration and I think it is classy and cool. Very much up there (and better) than the likes of Life|Ware, Hai,  mControl etc

For me, it puts Comfort on a totally different level, in fact it pushes it to the top with the best.

Music, Video, Pictures, Comfort Home Control, all in one classy GUI with ten feet control extended to every room using the Xbox extender, that's a bomb.

An excellent product and a marriage made in heaven.

Well done Superna

Give it a try, it's worth it.

PS : This is not a generic software, the drivers were built and designed for Comfort

Hi,

I would love to try this.

What do I need to implement this and how much will it cost?

Many thanks,

Clinton.

Hi,

I couldn't find pricing on the website.  Can you be more specific?

I am guessing you use ControlWare to do all of this?

Thanks,

Clinton.

Hi

Try http://www.smarthome.com/_/ProductResults.aspx?Ntt=superna for guide prices.

You would need the Confignet software for configuring your system and a flavor of Controlware either for PC, MCE, PDA (each sold seperately).

Thanks

The screen shots look nice. Do you have a project to share so that we can see how it is created?

Sure, no problem at all.

Would be best to export the entire project but I would have to check the size of the files. Do you have an Ftp site ?

Thanks
