Please note that in order to do a Write to EEPROM for UCM/GSM4, the SIM card must be inserted in the holder

Without a SIM Card, the UCM/GSM4 will constantly reset itself and prevent the write to Comfort. The transfer bar not move and the Write to EEPROM operation will time out

If a SIM card is not inserted, the Status bar on the bottom left of the GSM configurator screen will show "Sim Card Please upgrade the UCM firmware by right clicking on the UCM in Modules and selecting "Check for Updates"
This will upgrade the firmware from the cytech server to the current version which is 7.048 at this time

Also make sure the UCM (General) firmware is the latest version 7. Version 6 does not support writing to EEPROM

It is a good idea when installing new features and modules to make sure all firmware is upgraded to the latest version, as it is a simple thing to do, see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/3400.htmlnot

I am having the same problem. The GSM has a sim card in and is already working. I just need to download the zone names because at the moment when the alarm is triggered it sends a sms that shows the zone number and not the name.

Also when i used to send a sms to trigger a response it used to send a reply that said "Ok" but now the reply is just blank.

If the sim card is not inserted and recognised by the UCM/GSM4, the write to EEPROM may not complete (it may or may not depending on the timing)

The RDY led should be green to show the SIM card has been accepted and the network his connected.  Wite to eeprom can take place after this

Did the write to eeprom complete?

I have inserted the sim card and the GSM sends messages but i can't download to change the zone names. At the moment if the alarm is triggered it doesn't send the zone name it only sends the zone number.

Are you sure you have a UCM/GSM4 with the U2 EEPROM and the correct GSM Module as shown in this post http://www.comfortforums.com/forum48/3647.html
Take a photo of the UCM/GSM and send to support@cytech.biz

also do a Scan of Modules, save the cclx file and send to the same email

From your cclx file, the UCM firmware is 6.012
This firmware does not support writing to eeprom for UCM modules

You will see the error "Error writing configuration"

Please upgrade the UCM firmware by right clicking on the UCM in Modules and selecting "Check for Updates"
This will upgrade the firmware from the cytech server to the current version which is 7.048 at this time

You will then be able to write to EEPROM

It is a good idea when installing new features and modules to make sure all firmware is upgraded to the latest version, as it is a simple thing to do, see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/3400.html
