Hi,
Just playing with the new cwm02, and have managed to import my own house plan etc. I have got some functionality working, basic x10 etc, but was wondering about doing the following, which I cant identify how to in the manual
1) Display flag status as icons
2) Display scs06 temp readings ?
3) How would I go about creating an option where I can set the tem level in the scso1 via the cwm02
Regards,
Eamon

Hi Eamon,
You have to do a workaround for the first 2 points.
1) Use a counter, instead of a flag for your purpose (i.e. counter value 0 = clear flag and counter value 255 = set flag). Hence, the CWM02 will be able to show the status, based on the counter value.
2) Similarly, transfer the sensor reading into one of the unused counter, by using the sensor response. Then CWM02 shows temp reading via the counter.
Can you elaborate on point 3? I do not understand what you are trying to achieve. Sorry.
Best regards,
Leon

Hi Leon,
Thanks for the reply, with regards point 3, what I meant was can i have an option on the web page that I can set the temp level that the scso6 will activate on or off.
So basically if I have a reposnse that turns on heat at15 deg, and off when it reaches 22 deg. Can I have an input on the web page, where I can change those values, ,ie increase or decrease each level by steps of 1 deg.
Regards,
Eamon
PS. Also, sorry, might be abvious, but how to you display live input status ? THe only devicces I seem to be able to create are x10, I dont see how I can add input (or outputs) to the page, although I see they existin in the default template!!

Hi Eamon,
I think I understand what you meant now.
Counters can be used for this purpose.
On the web page, there are an icon to trigger a response to increase the counter value and another icon to trigger a response to decrease the counter value.
The scs activation will check for this counter to set the right temperature. For example, if counter value is 1, turn on at 16 deg. If counter value is 2, turn on at 17 and so on. All other values, it will turn on at 15 deg.
As for the live status, have you tried "Element"?
Best regards,
Leon

Hi Leon,
Thanks for that, gives me something to work on.

Right, Just over a year later, and I'm trying to finally get round to getting my cwm sorted :-)
Couple of quick questions if someone can help.
1) Is the applet designer comaptible with windows 7 ? It seems to be, but when I export html to the "newproject" folder, the folder appears blank!! Not sure why this is, bar I am using win7.
2) Just wanted to confirm that an x10 element will update itself when comfor turns the element on. I.e if a motion sensor activates an x10 light, the x10 element in cwm will display as active ?
Thanks,
Eamon

Okay, With regards question 1 above, sorted, dodgy settings on the cwm applet designer!!
Been making a fair bit of progress, have now got all my sensors displayed over a map/plan view of the house, with stick men waving in a room when pir is activated :-)
Also, have managed to display heating status (on or off only) based on using scs ouput status.
I know the above is a bit basic, so want to get some morre detailed stuff now, like controlling x10 devices and displaying scs temp settings.
hints and tips welcome :-)
One thing I did notice with cwm designer is that even though I loaded up my comfigurator file to it, it does not identify responses by name, or x10 devices for that matter. It does recognise inputs and outputs by name, but not responses and x10 devices, whcih makes life difficult!!
I anyone is interested, I will post up my cwm files, but I am guessing most may see it as a bit basic for their needs.

Temp sensor readings are done using Sensor Registers which van be selected
X10 values can also be seen as status but take note that this may not be correct if the local button is pressed on the X10 module as this does not send out any X10 command on the powerline
We are interested in what users have designed so please do post your design if possible

Thanks again ident, you've been busy :-)
Regarding the x10 devices, I understand the limitation when the device is activated manually, thanks . What I did notice is the cwm only reported
Status of x10 devices correctly when an action is initiated when logged on to webserver!
For example a timed light will behave on the following manner
Device is turned off
Log on to wevserver
Device is activated by comfort (via pir for example)
Webserver reports devices correctly as on!
However if I log off of webserver now, and then log back in again, comfort reports the device as off, even though it has not been turned off!!
Regards
Eamon

Thanks again!
Also, is there any particular reason why cwm does not or can not display flag status ?

The problem with display of flags is due to the CWM firmware
The next version should fix this

Great thanks! Will the applet designer be updated also to allow the inclusion of flags?
Any approximation of when this will be released?
Thanks again

Oops Sorry about that You are correct, you obviously know more about CWMN than me. The applet does not allow the status of flags at the moment and the UCM firmware will not fix that
We will look at that change in future. As a workaround, perhaps you can use Counters instead of Flags

No bother, will look at the counters option! Prob
Means dumping the strategy of using flags on my comfigurator file and switching to counters
Another thing I noticed with cwm is that it does not display response names even whenlibkibg to the correct comfigurator file which is a serious pain! Same goes with x10 devices!!

You may have missed the Check-box for 'Use Comfigurator File' which allows you to select Responses?

You are correct that X10 devices wil show their correct status only when the CWM is logged in when the X10 commands are sent and when the CWM logs in, the X10 status is off It does not have a memory for X10 status. This is to be investigfated for the future. However X10 is become less popular as other technologies and products appear

X10 is generallly difficult to monitor and the usage is going down
I suggest a workaround of using X10 Responses to load Counters so you can use Counters to monitor the X10 status
