Hi there, i will be recieving a comfort1 web server ucm in about a week.  I have heard that the documentation that accompanies it is not very good.  I have been unable to locate any documention or help for the web server module myself.
Does anybody know where i could find some decent documentation on programming, installing, ect.

Check out the "Comfort Webserver Module" links on http://cytech-technology.com/manuals.html and on http://cytech-technology.com/software.html.

We will be releasing a software tool shortly to help in the design of the web pages, instead of having to enter text

Well, that will be nice, but i like hard coding web pages, even though i have dreamweaver 8 for web page design.  Coding allows me to do much much more.
I do however have a new problem!

I cant set up or transfer files to the web module.  According to the manual i need to enable the engineer mode from a comfort keypad, but i am not on site, so the cwm is not connected to a comfort system.  The very idea of having to be on site to setup, program or test your web pages is ridiculous!  Is there no way to setup and program this thing without it being connected to comfort?

The requirement to enable Engineer is for security purposes, to protect the end user
The constraint is not that you must program and test the web pages locally, it is that you need to connect the CWM to Comfort. the CWM was not designed to work without being connected to Comfort. Once the initial setup is done and the CWMm can be accessed from the Internet, you can access it from anywhere, including for programming

My apologies, its just that here in SA doing something like this over the internet is not that easy.  There are a variety of problems attatched.  But im not going to go into that right now!.
I was under a mistaken impression, that the cwm web pages are written in html, when it appears to be entirely consisting of those applet tags, with no real coding involved.  I am new to using the cwm, but is there any langauage or commands, ect. that can be used to extend the somewhat limited functionality of the tags, like if, then else statements and checking comfort states and reading them into variables?

The CWM cannot be programmed in that way. Its purpose is to allow you to control Comfort and monitor all the alarm and security states, inputs, outputs and status of all your home appliances

What did you want to accomplish with the functionality thyat you described?

Unless you are running comfort ultras 1024 responses, you dont really have enough responses to do some serious automation!  I think it would of been nice if there was some kind of logic engine (even if it was a very simple one) similar to that which comfort uses.  This would allow you to write code instead of being forced to store commands in responses on comfort.
Now i will admit, that you can store action code sequences in the applet tags, that are executed when a user clicks the corresponding button.  But this is as far as it goes, no logic, no coding, no event driven system.
If you were somehow able to encorperate just an event driven system similar to the responses that comfort uses, you would be able to extend comforts power to whole new level!
Perhaps this web based server side logic should be a consideration for future comfort development.
Kind regards, AJ

With Comfort II, Ultra is the "standard" version so 1024 responses is available for all your logic and scheduling requirements as well as 32 time programs 16 reminders etc
You can upgrade your Comfort I PRO to Ultra just by changing the chipset U1 and U4
CWM was not meant as a super controller, just a means of accessing Comfort from the Internet
