Can the ZWave and CBUS UCM co-exist on the same comfort system ?

According to the comfort zwave docs, a request for status to a device will store the values in the exact same counter as what is already used for cbus (ie 0-200). The example in the docs states
"For instance, if the base counter is 32, and the Z-Wave light to be monitored is ID 5, the counter that is used to store the status is 32"

How do you get around this as 32 is already used by CBUS.

I also infer that comfort doesnt get live status updates ala cbus - but you can request the status. Are there any issues about having a continuous timer to get the status of all zwave devices every 10 seconds or so ?

The manual actually says the the Zwave ID is added to the base counter, ie if the ID is 5, and base counter is 32 then the Zwave state for ID 5 is updated to counter 37 (ie 32 + 5). The Base counter set by SW8 allows the Zwave network to coexist with CBus or EIB UCMs provided the Cbus group addresses  are not all over the place. For example if you have Cbus group addresses from 0 to 180 then you can set the Zwave Base counter to 192 and have 64 Zwave IDs. If however you Cbus network uses group addresses all the way to 255 then you may have a problem, buy that should not happen unless you have a big palace
