This is a known bug in the new firmware 5.145 which was announced in this forum http://www.comfortforums.com/forum60/1195.html
This happens only if the house phone has not been used at all after a reset or power up on Comfort
When the doorbell rings the phones, and the phone is used to talk to the visitor, you cannot hear the door station, although the visitor at the door can hear the person on the phone
This is fixed by just lifting up the phone handset for at least 1 second. The door station will work fine in both directions after this. Hence this should not be a problem once this is known. It shouldl not affect the user after the phone is used once
The new firmware significantly improves the performance of the intercom function

No it does not, otherwise you would hear "Security Off" or "Night Mode" when it does. The Engineer Sign in is reset every midnight which is what you probably were thinking of
