I've just added a KP04 into my system, which is
Comfort II Ultra
7.142
FS 34
Vocab 5
Not customised
System Vocab 35
User Vocab 1
LCD Txt 2
Min KP 3

Keypad says wrong text , *1 to sync
When I press *1 , get the download aborted no text

Is the KP too old, or do I need to upgrade anything? Thanks.

Does the KP04 announce the vioice menu when you enter your user code and # key?
This is to check if the Vocabulary is working. If there is no vocab then the text sync with KP04A will not work. If there is voice on the keypad, then do  Sentence Tables Upgrade in Transfer Menu. Thi will write the sentences tables to Comfort which will allow it to sync with the KP04

looks like I have a bigger issue. Not getting audio from KT03 or when I call in on fixed line and log in (after voice machine prompt)
Think it's a config issue or hardware? All that's happened was the KT03 was removed from the system. Leaving just the keypad.

If the voice is missing please  do a Vocabulary upgrade ass http://www.comfortforums.com/forum76/1623.html  This should fix the no text problem on KP04 as well

Thanks , I've tried this a couple of times with myma43. I hear comfort beeping (like a reset) and then get an error from Comfigurator saying Vocab Errors.
I am using the Rpi as my UCM ETH.

I have been able to do a sentence upgrade .. but vocab fails and seems to lock up comfort. It needs a reset to allow further downloads.
Still no vocab either via kt03 or dial-in

I am using the Rpi as my UCM ETH.

That explains it. Rpi cannot be used for Vocabulary upgrade or Firmware upgrade. Do you have a UCM or ETh03?

I suggest you buy a UCM, or if you have a CM9001, get a ETH03 submodule which can plug in to CM9001.
