many installers do not know about Comfort's Dial Test feature which is unqiue among alarm systems. To test the dial-out they may arm the system and trigger an alarm and wait to see if the dial out succeeded to the Central Monitoring Station or Voice Phone

A much better way to do this with Comfort is Dial Test. Press F3 and 3 on the Keypad. The voice menu says "Dial Test, Please Hang up" Press F to exit from the menu.
You can hear the dial tone, DTMF dialling tones, ringing tones, or and for Central Monitoring Stations, the handshake tones and the DTMF signal and kissoff tones. You can also hear if the line is busy or there is another problem preventing the dial-out from working.
The dial test will dial to all 8 numbers if programmed. Once the round of dial tests has succeeded, it will end. If the call is not successful, it wil dial again

Dial Test can also be initiated remotely by dialing in and going to Engineer Menu 8 for Test Mode, 3 for Dial Test (F0 on keypad must be pressed to enable Engineer Code)
In user menu the menu is 3 for Security, 4 for Test Mode and 3 for Dial Test. When Dial test has been initated, press # a few times until the voice menu says "Thank You, goodbye"

One possible cause of failure to dial is the connection of too many house phones or a phone that is faulty resulting in leakage. When there is a failure on dial test, try disconnecting all phones from TEL OUT andd try the dial test again

This is a very valuable tool which should be used on every installation to test the dial out.

A Recording of a Dial Test is attached.
This is initiated by a Dial Test (F,3,3 on the keypad)

The announcement "Dial Test Please Hang up " is heard, followed by a pause while the dial tone is detected.

Comfort dials to the Central Monitoring Station number and waits for answer

The Receiver answers the call and sends the Handshake tones 1400 Hz followed by 2300 Hz. Comfort then sends the alarm signal foro Dial Test as a series of DTMF Tones. When the Receiver accepts the signal, it sends a Handshake tone as a 1400 Hz tone.

If Comfort has more alarms to send, it will send each alarm and wait for Kissoff. If there are no more alarms to send Comfort hangs up and ends the call

In the sample  recording, Comfort hangs up after the Dial Test signal, ie after the 1st kissoff tone. The timing of the tones has too be very accurate which is one reason many digital phone lines and GSM lines do not work because of delays introduced by the network

If you cannot do dial test, it could mean that there is a problem with the telephone line connection
Incoming telephone line should be connected to TEL IN
The voltage at TEL IN should be 40V to 50V. Please measure that

Another possibility is there is a fault on the Comfort board or it may be damaged due to a lightning strike

When was this product purchased? Can you give the serial number which is on a bar code label on the PCB?

The Telephone line connection is proper and all the telephones are connected to TEL OUT are working fine

Voltage measured on TEL IN Terminals - 49.8V.
