I have conducted the Dial-out test and it seems that something is wrong.
There appears to be a dial-out taking place (I can hear the DTMF tones) but neither of the two mobile numbers registered to receive calls get called.
I briefly hear a message "Please check the number ..."
When I have had alarms recently (not turning the system off in time when I return home) there has been no call received on the dial-out numbers know to Comfort.

I have Comfort 1 Ultra which has been working OK in this respect for 10 years.

Check that all the phone connections are correct, and your telephone service provider has not changed, or you have changed to ADSL as some of these digital lines are not compatible with DTMF tones

If everything is unchanged and it had been working for 10 years then itis possible that the board has developed a fault and it is time to upgrade to Comfort 2

I have changed phone service from ADSL to cable a fair while ago but that could be responsible for the failures now. Anything I can change which may make a difference?

These fiber phone lines are often not compatible with auto dialing systems
I suggest to get a GSM module but that needs upgrade to comfort 3

I realise that I didn't mention all the information relating to this issue.I believe that after my internet and phone have been switched over to the new NBN network that the dial-out actually worked again briefly although it has lapsed again. When I try a Dial Out Test I get the message from Comfort  “Please hang up”.I have tried to disconnect all the rest of the phones in the house to no avail. When I use one of my handsets I can press numbers on the telephone to transmit codes to automatic systems so I believe that Comfort should be able to transmit DTMF codes if it can grab a line. The Dial Out Test makes a couple of attempts to call out but on each occasion it is greeted by what sounds like an engaged signal.
(I know I have been advised to upgrade but unfortunately I don't have the funds to do that at this time.)

If the Dial test shows that the line is busy then it wil not be able to dial out even if it can send DTMF tones
The system has taken the phone line offhook but is unable to obtain a dial tone
Based on what you say I suspect it is a hardware fault on the 15 year old product
