Hello,

strangely the outputs stopped working, they are actuated from home control menu.

everything else is working, what could it be?

What are these outputs connected to?
How many outputs are being used?
Are these outputs located on the main panel, LEM or SEM board?

They were working before?
What changes have been made to the system recently?

I'm using 8 outputs from the main panel to actuate solenoids.
they where working fine for several years.

the only thing that happened was a storm (some other devices stopped working but now the are fine), everything is working but the outputs.

The lightning surge may have damaged the outputs
The outputs are on the OP01 submodule

This can be unplugged and replaced (Power off Comfort first)

Use a OP01 module from the LEM01 or SEM to confirm if the one on Comfort has been damaged
Then you can order a replacement OP01

ok, I'll try tomorrow with a LEM01.

So, the procedure is to change the programmed outputs (op1, op2...) to the outputs of the LEM (op9, op10..) and see if they actuate, right?

I have a picture of the panel, can you confirm that the OP01 submodule is the signaled in the picture? If i'm not using outputs in a panel can I remove it?

thanks,
RR

No. What you have is the old Comfort 1, not Comfort 2

Comfort 1 does not have the Op1 submodule as you can see from the photo. OP1 is a small board not an IC

You have pointed the arrow to the U5 IC which does drive the outputs on Comfort i
You can remove the U5 IC from SEM or Comfort and plug it into the other module to check if the prioblem is due to the U5 damaged
Be careful to switch off the power and remove battery before doing so
The U5 IC can be removed permanently if the module outputs are not used

I had a similar issue with my main panel, Output 1 remained off permanently, while 2-8 were always on. I had an old SEM which I replaced a few days before, so decided to take the OP1 submodule from there. The main board stopped working (similar to what the SEM was replaced for), which suggest that the issue might have been the OP1 submodule on the SEM to start with.

In any case I then tested with the OP1 submodule from the new SEM, and all the ports worked. So I need to order the submodule or two.

While on the subject of outputs, Configurator (3.7.6.0)shows Output00 as the first output, any reason for this?

The OP01 output was designed to be  pluggable because it is easy to damage outputs, depending on what is connnected to them

If an output is in the ON state, any surge on  the output wiring can cause the output to be damaged. This is why if an output is connected to a relay, the relay should be near to the output and not connected by a cable running a long distance

Output 00 in the Output action means the Output number is not fixed but is taken from the result of the previous action

eg

get Counter 1
Set Output 00

If counter 1 value is 5, then the next action sets output 5

Both relays (on Main panel and SEM) were next the boards and not actual outputs. There was only one relay per board, and in the case of the main panel, all outputs were damaged.

I was referring the Output List (Comfort -> Names ->Outputs). Will try manually remove this from the project and see if it is just a carried over setting.

The Output list should not show output 00

I have just had a burn out on the 0P01 I smelt an electrical burning smell and then found none of my Outputs worked on 1-8. i touched the board and found it was roasting hot. I swopped the boards with the one in the SEM 1-8 outputs worked again. the only thing that had been added was an infrared IR01W (school boy error cables placed wrong way round which I think it was caused module to fry. put module in sem and it just cooked have had to remove module and will have to get a replacement (lesson learn t) :(

That is why we made the Op1 pluggable as the outputs can be damaged ifconnected wrongly.
Hence you do not need to replace the whole SEM or comfort

Hi,

I am wiring my comfort and I am wondering what is the maximum safe distance where I can run the output cables to switch relays without damaging the output transistors due to possible surges.

It is best to put the  relays next to the Comfort PCB or in the same cupboard where Comfort is mounted. The relay contact wires can be run a long way

I recently tried to use Output 01 connected via TWS02, however the output failed to send signal to operate the relay. tried different methods of programing but to no avail, I also changed the OP1 board but this made no difference either. when the relay was connected to any other output it worked fine. I suspect that the actual Output is faulty 2 - 8 all work normally. is there anyway of resetting the output 1 specifically. (Its not used but would prefer it was working)

Usually it is the OP1 output which can be dameged more easily

Can you use IO Monitor and enter O!0101 to turn on the output, see if that works
The reply should be
OP0101 output 1 on

The response you get with that command is "OK"
from the execute response you get
DA800101FF
RA0000

Also status says "OFF"

Could you open your programming file and go to "Functions"--> "Thermostats". If you are not using thermostats. please ensure that all "Sensor" are "Unassigned"(see attachment).
