Hi,
I´m having a couple of issues with my confort II system.
I have now noticed that when you arm the alarm to away mode, the keypad dont stop saying "door detector", even if I open and close the door, the warning keep on and on, until you see a message that says something like "arming error". I have found that if I enable the door detector ( F+1/ zone 5# ) it works the 1st time but soon you disarm the away mode, if you try to arm it again the same issue happens. In order to arm the alarm again i need to enable the the door detector one more time.
Anyway, when the away mode is armed, motion sensors are working, but if you open the main door nothing happens... theres no alarm. Sensor can be broken? is this a firmware/software problem?
Any help is appreciated
Sorry for the poor english.
Regards,

In order for the system to be armed to Away mode, you need to exit from your house by opening the entry door and then close it.
If the entry door is opened when you press the Away arm button then it will announce the door, just close it and few seconds later the system will be armed to Away mode.
F+1 is NOT enabling the door detector, it is bypassing the detector.
That is why when you open the door, nothing happens.
But when the system is disarmed, the system will automatically un-bypass the detector.
I suspect there may be a fault with the door detector.
To check this, go to Security Check mode by pressing F, 3, and then 2.
In this mode all open zones will be announced.
See whether your door is announced when you open it?
Closing the door will announce nothing, opening it again will announce the door name.
Don't forget to exit from this Security Check mode by pressing the F key again once you're done checking.

Hi Hendy,
Thanks for the info.
I just try it again and when you enter in security check mode, if you open the door theres no announcement.
Here is what i hear when i enter this mode:
"Verifying security, door detector, garage alarm off garage alarm on"
Any ideas?
Thanks again

If the door is not announced in Security Check when you open it, that means you have a problem with the sensor or the connections or wiring.
Test this in security check by removing the terminal block from the door detector zone, this causes the zone to be opened and you should hear the announcement. That shows the Zone is working

Hi Ident,
Thanks,
I´m trying to find which terminal block belongs to the door detector. I have checked the diagram and didnt found any information about this. I took a photo, hope you can help with it.
I just have access to the RIO card, and I dont know if the terminal block is in this PCB or the one under of it.
One important point, I noticed there is one wire disconnected, as you can see on the pic, I cant remenber if it was like this before.

The detector can not be connected to the RIO board as this does not support security input, so it is most likely connected to the main controller PCB just below of it.
Do you have a hold of the configuration file?
It can tell exactly which input the detector is connected to.
Regarding the loose wire, does it have a label on it?
If not, contacting the installer may be the better option.

Alternatively pop the door contact out from the frame and carryout the test this way by disconnecting the wires. Be aware if there is tamper protection on the sensor.

On a different note but one that I am passionate about....
TIDYNESS of cables
The above picture is a good example, DOMO has used crimp(or solder) ferrells on wire terminations which is commendable but unnecessary as the blue terminal blocks used have flat 'blades' inside that the screw clamps against (it does not clamp directly onto the cable)(although I suspect the large cable size meant that it was not possible to get the cable in the terminal block!)
The rest of the wiring is just spaghetti!
Over a decade of installing comfort and it is true that when I come across untidy wiring it invariably means that the rest of the system has been cobbled together. Untidy wiring goes hand in hand with an unreliable system.
DOMO please do not take offence none is meant.
What to do -
The problems are as follows:
- Comfort has many combinations of parts is several chassis/frames, pcbs can readily be stacked on each other.
- There are no 'designated' cable routes, no cable restraints and no suggestion any where that that wiring need to be kept tidy.
The fix.
- make the casings shallower and dont allow stacking of pcbs.
- provide cable fixing points at least down the side of pcb's and include a pack of cable or veltro ties or similar.
- Show pictures of suggested ways to manage cables and add a paragraph to the install documentation.
- In any hard ware upgrade make ALL of the bellbox connections appear at ONE location.
Rant finished -

Home, How about a photo of your recommended wiring from one of your projects?
