Hi,
I have a strange promlem that I hope someone can help me with.
I'm installing my comfort system at the moment and all seems well so far except when it comes to the UCM05.
If I have the UCM05 connected but no serial link to the PC, everything seems to work fine. keypad is responsive, the UCM05 green led blinks very fast (almost too fast to see) and the reg led blinks fairly fast.
So, I go to plug inthe serial cable to the PC. The blinking immediatly slows right down, (green maybe 2 per sec and red maybe 1 every 2 or 3 secs) not just on the UCMo5, but on my UCM CBUS too.
The keypad is now VERY unresponsive and hardly works at all. The configurator software doesnt see the UCM, but I know using putty or hyperterminal that there is occationally data from the comfort system there. (it just doesnt want to reply to a login within a reasonable amount of time).
So, it looks like the act of plugging in the RS232 serial makes the system slow to a crawl and become useless.
Any idea why this would be ?
Paul

I have not seen this symptom before
Could it be a problem withyour PCI card causing a conflict with the Rs232 port?
Can you try removing the PCI Card or better still try another PC serial port?

Done that
There's an on-board serial and a PCI card with 6 ports. Tried both and no luck. Actually almost all of them are used by other things, so they definitly work.
Wondering if this is a faulty UCM?

Please get a replacement from your supplier. We will look at the cause of the problem when we get it back from them
