This morning I tried upgrading the firmware of my comfort Ultra II to the latest 5.215 this to take advantage and test the new iPhone app.
I have an ethernet UCM so assumed that so long as :
1. I have the prog cable connected to the comfort
2. The other ends (2 and 4 pin connectors connected to the ethernet UCM)
3. The shunt on the programming jumper
I was ready to go. Unfortunately comfigurator reported a problem and now comfort seems dead with the exception that the keypad are beeping continuousily as they seem to have lost comms with the comfort.
Was this the right procedure and was I right in attempting to program comfort via my LAN?

What was the error reported by Comfigurator? At what stage did the error occur? If it happens again copy the Monitor I/O and send to support@cytech.biz
Not to worry, if an error occurs during firmware upgrade with the programming cable, check the connections again, switch off power to Comfort and on again.
Restart Comfigurator and do the Firmware upgrade again
The PP2 shunt should be on Comfort not the UCM

Hi,
the comfort is currently not responding to any commands. Each time I turn the comfort off and on you just get the beeping sound coming from the keypads (meanin no connection to comfort) and nothing else.
Is there a way to reset the comfort to at least be able to do the firmware upgrade again?

I have just tried something else and thought that this info may be useful. If I remove the shunt and programming cable from the comfort and turn the power off and on again. The keypads still beep but now I also hear a relay-like clicking sound coming from the comfort. Does this provide any clues?

The firmware is currently erased so there will be no normal operation. The UCM should be able to upgrade the firmware with the programming cable and P2 in place
Try connecting the programming cable again and shunt the PP2
What is your Comfigurator version?
Before you start, enable the Monitor I/O in View menu
Try the firmware upgrade and if there is an error, Copy the Monitor I/O window to clipboard and send it to support@cytech.biz
What is the error message?
Remember to let us know the Comfigurator version because very old versions may not support this so well

The problem is your ucm 5.164 is not able to complete the firmware upgrade
You need to get the ucm firmware upgraded to 6.002
This will allow you to upgrade the comfort firmware

In that case you do need another UCM, but this wilol allow you to upgrade the Comfort and the other UCM. Both UCMs wil be able to upgrade their own firmware in future
