Have you tried running from another PC or from the host rather than from within a VM. Whilst running within a VM shouldn't be a problem normally, testing a different PC might give more info and differnt clue to the issue?

Thanks. That is precisely what I am going to try today. And a different crossed cable.

Also use the latest software where possible. I use DS Manager 5.9.3 (on Win7 x64).

In Parallels what have you got networking mode set at?
I use Parallels and use Bridged network settings and that works OK.

With Shared networking the virtual machine will be on a different subnet to the UCM/Ethernet and Tibbo software will not see it.

Thanks everyone. Couldn't identify the problem lots of possible variables. I used a separate Windows XP laptop set to the same subnet with a crossed cable. This worked fine with DS Manager, set the IP to a fixed IP on my network and I can now access through the network using the laptop (with its IP address also reset). So all working. Next step is to see is to reengage firewalls and try using Parrelels on the Mac again.

Thanks you to all who replied. Very helpful for someone new to this and much appreciated.

Was so surprised to actually get it working I inadvertently uploaded using Comfigurator a file which set the PIR in the zone I was standing as a Tamper Switch sensor type. Oops. Endeared myself to the neighbours there at 10:30pm at night.

So is it correct to advise Max users running a Virtual Machine for Windows that in Parallels, "Bridged Network" Settings must be used and not "Shared Networking" in order for DS Manager to see the UCM/Ethernet?
Thanks

Having sorted the UCM Ethernet IP address using DS Manager installed on a separate Windows laptop, I am now using Parallels running Comfigurator and Wiz Comfort on a virtual Windows 7 machine on the Mac (Parallels 6 on Mac OS Lion). Runs across wifi and ethernet equally successfully. I am using the default "SHARED" setting in Parallels. I have re-engaged all firewalls and it is all still working.

My problem, for some reason and I am no expert, was that I couldn't get my virtual machine to connect to UCM Ethernet on the default IP range to change the IP address in the first place (I tried a lot of things, bridged, crossover cables etc.) I am still not sure why, and following suggestions above, I just borrowed a Windows laptop to set the IP (Just have to hope I don't ever have to reset it).

Once set to my local IP address range, it has been working just fine.
