Hi
I last updated my system in 2010 CPU version 5.183 system 34 on Comfort ultra I I
Lately I have to frequently download from PC to Comfort to rectify a problem with Comfort.
Something seems amiss. The key pad will not accept ion any functions and when arming the system it seems to go immediately into armed status, a clear indication that something is wrong.
To recover, I have to download from PC to comfort. This fix works for a week or two and then plays up again.
Any ideas as what might be causing this ?
Thanks

The key pad will not accept any functions
What do you mean?
You cannot press function keys? Which keys did you press?
What do you hear, a long beep or nothing?
and when arming the system it seems to go immediately into armed status, a clear indication that something is wrong.
Do you hear please exit or "Away Mode"
Is it really armed or is it the Armed leds turn on? The armed leds turn on while arming.
When you disarm do you hear "security off"
Can you enter your code and hear the voice menu?
Is it a problem of not hearing any voice on the keypad but everything else is working
Reset causes the voice to recover so it is not writing to comfort that restores it
If the voice is lost temporarily and reset causes it to come back this is because the supply voltage has dropped drastically. The voice is disabled to protect it. Low voltage could cause the voce to be corrupted\
When it happens next, do a system reset without writing to comfort

Hi
Sorry for the late response, I wanted the situation to replay itself so that I could feed back accordingly.
Last night while watching TV, I heard the keypad beep once.
When the system is armed I have a response that flashes a led in my bedroom to indicate the status of the arm.
If the led is not lit then I know I have a problem.
I then went thru the sequences for this report back.
1. Went to the log file and the system reported a RESET at 21:00
2. On the keypad I attempted to go to Home Control and the keypad did not respond - no beep.
3. Did a system reset and then set the alarm to Night mode. The keypad announced Night Mode. No led was lit in the bedroom.
4. I then decided to test if the system was armed. I walked into the lounge and was picked by the passive. It did not activate the siren. When I got to the keypad it displayed a Warning.... message, then reported intruder alarm on Front Door (which is incorrect) and then the siren went off.
5. I opened the front door and set the system to Night Mode, again it rushed into Night Mode and did not complain about the door being open.
6. Did a system download.
7. Set the system to Night mode and it complained that the Front Door was open.
8. Closed the door and set to night mode (led was flashing in bedroom) and did a walk test in the lounge.
9. The siren was instant and the keypad reported Movement in Lounge which is correct.
10. System is normal until the next occurrance

That is very strange behaviour
Can you send the cclx and event log files to support@cytech.biz so we can check what happened
It may be due to a misbehaving module on the comfort rs485 bus
Can you run Bus Monitor from Tools (not Monitor I/O)
This captures all the communications on the bus and is good for troubleshooting
Normally you should see messages when something hhappens like zone activated. If there are error messages then there is a bus problem
Copy to clipboard and send the result as well
If it is normal, do this again when the problem occurs again

Following up... Not sure what's causing this but it is most likely one of the old known bugs that had been fixed.
All's good so far after upgrading the Comfort firmware to the latest version, so I heard from dcrera

Hi Hendy
I had this problem for almost two years and finally lost my cool and decided to do something about it.
The upgrade resolved this problem.
Word to the wise, keep Comfort updated with latest software.
Thanks for your assistance

Hi
I am on comfort Ultra Version 7.040
Lately none of my outputs 1 - 8 are responding.
The inputs are fine.
Tried power cycle, downloaded from PC to controller and a few system resets.
No improvements.
Where should I look ?
Thanks

The Output plug in module which sits on the 2 rows of connectors may have gone faulty
This can happen if you short any output to a high voltage
Switch off power and battery, and exchange it with another OP01 from a Slave or LEM. If that works then the OP01 is faulty and you just have to buy anther one

Thanks.
We had a few load shedding (power cuts to limit usage) in our area, could this be the reason ?
I only use the slave for inputs, if I removed OP01 from the slave would it still work ?Last edited on Friday Nov 7th, 2014 10:13 am by dcrera

Hi dcera,
The OP1 is a driver for outputs like relays and could be damaged from voltage spikes from switching, or lightning strikes which I see often in South Africa.
I can supply a replacement OP1 to test if this resolves the problem, please contact me (brad at homeiq dot co dot za)
thanks
Brad

If a new OP01 does not work, there must be a fault on the CM9000
Let us have the serial number of the CM9000, it shoyld be in a label starting with P...

That serial number indicates that the PCB is from 2006, is that correct?
It appears that there is a fault in the main controller PCB driving the outputs. It needs to be repaired or replaced. Instead of repair, you may want to opt for an upgrade of the PCB at a much discounted price. Send a PM or email if you would like that option

Hi
I upgraded my system to the new CM9000 motherboard.
I also updated to the new Comfigurator 3950
Problem is none of the inputs on the LEM are responding
I doubled checked that the ribbon cable is connected to both the Lem and motherboard.
Any advice on how to rectify
Thanks

How do you check that your LEM inputs are not working? Can you send me your cclx file to support@cytech.biz

Hi
Apart from the problems listed above, I have other issues
None of the outputs activate on any of the programmed responses. I did a test on each and found that output 8 is activated ON, I can't turn it off. I did a grid graph and it shows it is activated on an Irx15 response
I don't have any scene switches
I have attached the ccl file for your comment
Regards

Hi
After much trouble shooting the problems with my outputs was related to a faulty LEM.
Removing the LEM has got the outputs to work.
Turns out I did not need a upgrade, just the LEM.
However that has its own issues. I can't arm the system because of zones troubles. If I try to force arm the system by pressing #, I comes up with ARM FAILURE Z
Any ideas on to bypass all zones on the LEM
Regards
