Comfigurator 3.5.6 is now released. This is a very substantial upgrade with many improvements and new features. Please read carefully

Now Updated to 3.5.6

Please download from http://www.cytech.biz/product_details.php?item_id=206

Changes from 3.4.4 (including 3.5.1 to 3.5.3 beta)

UCM Connection Settings

This is the change that will have the most effect so please read carefully. There is a tutorial at http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/2889.html
  • The UCM Connection settings are  saved in cclx file in Comfiguration > System Information. This allows the connection settings for a fiile to be remembered.  Configuration > System Information includes system related information formerly seen in General Information
  • Independent Remote and Local  Network settings for UCM/Ethernet can be entered and saved in Configuration > System Information.  This makes it easier to connect to Comfort via the Internet and Local Network.
  • The new "Override Connection Settings" button in Settings > UCM Connections overrides the saved connection settings in System  Information and allows a new  UCM connection to be selected. This should be used when connecting to a USB UCM which is not permanently connected to Comfort.
  • The actual Connection settings used is shown in the status bar
DS Manager
  • DS Manager is installed with  Comfigurator. There is a link to Launch DS Manager in Options >Settings  and Configuration > System Information when Ethernet Interface is selected. Separate installation of DS Manager is not required. (However DS Explorer is still needed to Upgrade the ETH firmware on the submodule). See the tutorial in http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/2890.html
Write/Read KT03 by UCM
  • Comfigurator 3.5 allows the KT03 Configuration to be wriiten or read via UCM instead of by the KT03 USB port. This is very useful especially when the installer is not on site, and is connected by Internet via UCM/ETH02. This new feature is only available when the folowing minium firmware versions are installed: Comfort 6.050, UCM 6.050, KT03 6.050, ie all versions are 6.050. In KT03 Properties, a field "Connection Type" is visible where either "UCM" or "USB" is  selected. Select UCM to read/write by UCM
General Improvements
  • After a firmware upgrade has been completed, prompt to Scan Modules again to update firmware info on the Modules Tab.
  • Configuration > System Information shows Comfort and file Information formerlly under General Information. see Tutorial at http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/2888.html
  • Added "Controller" under Modules tab which shows the Comfort CPU info ie Firmware Type, Firmware version, File system vocabulary number, custom vocab, System Vocab version,  User Vocab version, LCD text version, LCD KP min version This is so that the Comfort System Information can be seen in the same place as the other modules.
  • When saving a file, automatically check Responses for errors (in RED).
  • Retry up to 2 times if  Upgrade firmware, vocab, download to comfort and UCM eeprom was stopped by time-out.
  • Write Selective of Reminder Messages will now reset Comfort because a Reset is needed when changing reminder times and enables
  • Added "Show Status" checkbox in Sensors, Flags, Counters
  • Execute Response in Responses and Home Control does not log out after executing Responses so the results can be seen in I/O Monitor
  • Status Box for Events > RIO Inputs added
  • Drag and drop Outputs and Inputs to a new number will not delete the target. Instead the source and target will be exchanged. eg you can drag Input 2 to Input 1. This exchanges Input 1 and 2 numbers, and all responses and events which reference the inputs will now be changed to the new numbers. This is very useful if input and output numbers need to be changed due to mistakes and other constraints (or mistakes)
  • When reading old cclx files,  UCM types Lutron Rako Dynalite are converted to General UCM
  • After upgrading firmware, Comfigurator asks to Scan modules. If yes then it also sends date and time to Comfort so that Comfort date and time are correct. because after firmware upgrade the Date and Time are lost.
  • Read from Comfort make use of Scan modules to determine the UCM Types so so that commands to UCMs like KNX and Cbus are interpreted correctlyto the correct UCM Types.
  • If Scan for UCMs returns 00 (Unknown) and UCM is defined as smartfit etc which cannot be scanned then  dont change the ucm assignment - leave it as Smartfit etc
  • Added Logic Engine as a new default in File > New
Bus Monitor / Bus Analyser
  • The new Bus Analyser mode in the Bus Monitor detects any error in the Bus Communications, and allows the file to be saved for analysis
External UCMs
  • If any Response numbers referenced by UCM Modules or KT03 are changed, the UCM Write to EEPROM is automatically done after a Full or selective write to Comfort
  • Right Click in Modules Tab for "Write Modules & Settings" to Comfort to update changed numbers of modules after a Scan for Modules
SmartHouse/Dupline UCM
  • New UCM Type 24 Smarthouse(Dupline) and Response wizard to support Carlo Gavazzi SmartHouse. This requires a new UCM/Dupline UCM which is different from UCM/Universal
Universal UCM Configurator
These changes require UCM/Universal 6.02X
  • The "Comfort to Device" Tab name changed to "Alarms to Device"
  • Added new tab "Commands to Device" to save Commands to the external device so that the commands can be saved in the Ucm/Universal EEPROM. This allows the saved commands to be sent to the external device by referencing the saved command number.  The save Template feature allows the external module settings and commands to be saved and used again.
  • "Execute" button in Commands to Device and Alarms to Device table added to allow easy testing
  • Added Get status Button which shows the status of EEPROM Missing/Faulty and Communication error with submodule which were shown on the UCM Leds before
  • Fix Bug  Universal UCM had no limit on the no of entries which is 150
UCM/Zwave Comfigurator
These changes require UCM/Zwave 6.02X
  • Added Get Status button which shows the status  of Zwave Modules (EEPROM Missing/Faulty,  Communications between UCM and Zwave module, UCM not in zwave network, Waiting for Zwave data in Learn mode, receiving Zwave data in Learn mode, Learn success, Writing EEPROM, Zwave network busy which were shown on UCM LEDS before.
  • Comments for each Node are saved in EEPROM  so Z-Wave nodes can be identified
  • Faster Read/write to EEPROM
  • Z-Wave Comfigurator - Multichannel Command will be able to control multiple channels in the same command.
UCM/KNX Configurator
  • Fix bug KNX Comfigurator KNX to Comfort Drive Control EIS always assign counter = FF in write to EEPROM. This causes a BUG in UCM/KNX - when KNX to Comfort has a group address type Drive Control Mapped to a Counter, the telegram with this group address received by UCM/KNX may cause a spurious Response to be activated.
New Actions
  • Action 73,24 user numbers add  240 (keypad) , 241 (Response), 245 (SMS), and rename User number 90 as old KP No
  • New action 152 called Enable/Disable User. 152, user, 0 to disable, 1 to enable. (Valid from Firmware 6.02)
Scenario Import/Export
  • When importing scenarios, Comfigurator automatically assigns unused zones (with no zone type) to each zone in the scenario, and assigns different Outputs to outputs in the scenario, making it easier to import zones and outputs in Scenarios
  • When exporting and importing scenarios, the UCM types are included so as to avoid errors in imported Responses with  "send Rs232" commands.  A UCM of the correct type will be added in the Modules Tab if the same UCM type  is not present. Note that this feature requires the scenario to be created using this Comfigurator version as a scenario created with older versions of Comfigurator will not have the addtional UCM information.
  • A bug causing Crash when importing certain scenarios has been fixed (also in "Bugs Fixed" section)
Infrared Transmit Codes
  • When a IFR file is added to the ifr library using the IR Learner tool which is lauched from Comfigurator, the new IR data was not seen in Comfigurator in the IR Transmit Codes > Devices until Comfigurator was closed and opened again. A Refresh button has been added so that the IFR files list can be updated without having to close the program
Help Text
  • Modules and Settings > Time adjust - Help text changed to "Daily correction to the Clock in seconds - positive values speed up the clock, negative values slow down the clock by a number of seconds each day (from firmware 6.020)
  •  Keypad Voice Level Help text "The slider determines the volume of Voice Announcements on all keypads. The individual Voice menu volume for each keypad is set by Voice menu "7 for Volume". The keypad voice level is independent of the Phone Voice Level below and level of siren sounds on the keypad"
  • Also new Help text for recorded messages and Record quality In the Modules Tab, add an additional right click selection to "Write Modules & Settings to Comfort" to make it easier to write the Modules and settings to Comfort after scanning.
Improvements in Vocab/Sentence Upgrade
  • Vocab Upgrade VP command time out need to increase from to 45 seconds to allow time for Vocab Flash erase and initialisation.
  • The Error reply VP00xx reply to VS or VL during Vocab /Sentence upgrade will pop up an  error message "Error Code XX - Please retry Vocabulary Upgrade or Please retry Sentence Upgrade, and will also reset Comfort to reset the DSP to clear any error conditions ready for the retry.
Defaults
  • Removed X10 responses
  • Change Tune parameters 1 and 79 to improve KP to DP intercom
  • Logic def36.cctx removed Responses for voice, menu, recording, reminders
  • Added logic engine to default Template when File > New is selected
Bugs Fixed
  • Response numbers  could exceed 1023. The limit of Response numbers is 1023
  • Comfigurator crashed when importing certain scenarios
  • Importing of Responses in certain scenario was incomplete.
  • Responses with Errors were saved without any warning. Now a warning message is sent when any Responses contain errors (coloured RED)
  • "Show Status"  for RIO updates status  updated the wrong RIO outputs in real time when Rio Outputs change.
Known Issues
  • If the Vocabulary upgrade is stopped because of no reply from UCM, Comfigurator may end and log out without an error message. Always check the vocabulary on the keypad, make sure the voice can be heard after a reset
  • This is applicable esing UCM/USB and RS232, NOT UCM/ETH02. Velbus Configurator has Error during Learn Mode, says No Response from UCM which is a wrong mesage. After log in the Read from EEPROM continues with the correct results
  • If EEPROM Location 0 has an invalid value, Read from Comfort gives exception
  • If Velbus Configurator has an Unknown Module detected by Learn button, an error will be seen when the file is Written to Comfort
  • If the Response number exceeds the maximum number (1023 for Comfort 2 Ultra), Alarm Type Names will have an FF byte added to the front of the name. This causes the UCM/GSM SMS messages to have NO Alarm  Name. Reading the alarm types from Comfort will show the 1st character of the Alarm Type name missing. The workaround is to remove the Extra Responses
  • When Bus Monitor saves the log file, it changes the working folder for Comfigurator, and may cause an exception in Comfigurator wuth message "iomap.cym" is not found
  • During Firmware Upgrade, an error message UBF6 does not end the Firmware upgrade but Comfigurator resends the last line
  • In Zwave Configurator, Send Virtual Node Request for Node 15 gives the wrong message to Zwave
  • UCMs Virtual zones cannot select Zones > 64 for cclx files created with older Comfigurator versions (before zoones were extended to 96 zones)

A new feature of Comfigurator 3.5 is the ability to read and write a KT03 configuration by UCM, instead of the KT03 USB port

The version 6.050 firmware has not been released yet, but is now undergoing testing
