Comfigurator 3.8.6 has been released

The new features described here require Comfort and UCM firmware version 7 (connected to Comfigurator).  Please upgrade to the latest firmware as described in http://www.comfortforums.com/forum92/3400.html

Please upgrade to Comfort firmware 7.057 (or above), as older firmware may have extra keypads 9 to 15 appearing after a scan

How to upgrade to Comfigurator 3.8.6
Running Comfigurator 3.6.x and above will detect that a new version is available on the Cytech Server and will prompt you to download the new version. Also in Help menu, there is "Check for Updates" which will download the latest version.
To upgrade from older Comfigurator 3.5.x, and below, download Comfigurator 3.8.6 from http://www.cytech.biz/comfigurator.html

Known Issues
  1. Cbus1 actions which are not in the Lighting application are not converted correctly to Cbus2
  2. Read User Codes does not work (from 3.6.5)
  3. Cbus2 Actions in Response Wizard for Trigger and Enable are wrong.  UCM/CBUS2 is still in beta testing.
  4. Event Window (which shows the last alarm event) reports Phone Line Cut (Controller) as "Line Cut UCM#15"
  5. Options > Default KT03 Template causes  an exception
  6. Lutron commands for use in General and Universal UCM have error when more than 1 control Unit is specifed

Bugs fixed
  1. Optimum (File system 31) zone words cause Keypad not to announce the words. On the LCD, the zone words are displayed as "Nul0 Nul0 Nul0 Nul0"
  2. Fixed User Mode Control Menu commands not working
  3. Logic Engine Functions screen does not show Thermostats and Blinds
New Features
  1. For Firmware Upgrading in Modules, "Download Firmware Upgrade" is  a new option. This allows the latest released firmware to be downloaded so it can be used for upgrade later.
  2. The new User Mode has been introduced. Select User Mode or Engineer Mode from the View Menu. Engineer Mode is for programming the system, corresponding to the "normal" operation of Comfigurator, while User Mode  is for the user. User Mode has the functions of Wizcomfort, and will be described in detail in a later post
  3. UCM I/O Monitor is now enabled or disabled by Hide and Show on the UCM I/O Monitor bar, instead of in the View Menu. This makes it easier to turn it on and off.   The "Login" button is always shown on UCM I/O Monitor even when it is Hidden
  4. The cclx file is automatically backed up before every write to Comfort. An older version can be restored in File Menu > Restore from Backup.  Select the date and time of the previous backup. The auto-backup option is enabled in Options > Settings > "Backup before Write"
  5. An Event Box next to UCM/I/O Monitor bar shows alarm events as they occur in RED  eg Exit Time started and countdown, Entry time started, system  armed/disarmed to security mode, Alarm Type Active, Doorbell
  6. In Security > Sign-in  Codes, there are anew buttons for "Write User Codes" and "Read User Codes" so it is not necessary to write or read to comfort for user codes
  7. Phone Settings - added button for Dial Test. This allows a dial test to all programmed phones to be activated which can be heard on the keypad. This is equivalent to F3,3 on the keypad
  8. The Timer Action "Do Response after X seconds using Timer " has been enhanced. A time of 0 seconds means that the previous action value is used as the timer value. eg Get Counter 1. Do Response 100 after 0 seconds using Timer 2. The value from Counter 1 is loaded as the Timer delay. This allows a variable delay to be applied
  9. When Comfigurator is started, it will check of a  new version of Comfort Server Manager is available from the cytech server, and if so, prompt to download it.
  10. When CS Manager is run from Options > Settings > UCM Connection > select network, Comfigurator will check for a new version of CS Manager and prompt you to download from the server
  11. Supports new UCM/CBUS2
  12. LT01 is sent by Comfigurator after log in, as an extra message. This is to be used by other applications which need to know when Comfigurator is logged in to Comfort. This requires ULT 7.052 (not released)
Improvements/ Corrections
  1. Number of Outputs in some file systems like OPT  and SPC have been limited to 16 when you open a New file or do a Convert file system from Ultra . Previously the number of outputs was equal to the number of Zones even when the file systems have a lesser number of zones
  2. Scanning for modules, any unknown UCM module will not be shown as General
  3. In Phone Numbers, when the Phone Type is SMS, the + character is allowed as prefix to the phone number to allow the SMS to be sent overseas
  4. "Phantom Modules " which appeared after scanning (where modules are removed before scanning) will not be seen, except where the module has programmed information  eg KT03, UCM/KNX, UCM/Zwave, UCM/Universal, and various UCMs
  5. In Home Control Menu, "Alternate Phrase " allows any words to be entered for Home control menu, but the words are not announced in the Home control Menu. The alternate phrases are copied to UCM/GSM4 for Home control menu so the SMS info does not depend on the spoken words
  6. Vocabulary files are included in Comfigurator for upgrade of Vocabulary in the Comfig folder, so that they do not need to be downloaded.
  7. Configuration Flags and Miscellaneous Settings have been moved from Modules and Settings to Security where it is more appropriate

Someof the new features and improvements in Comfigurator 3.8.6 are illustrated here

UCM/Monitor I/O is now controlled by the Show/Hide button, instead of the View Menu

The above screenshot shows UCM I/O Monitor hidden. However the Login button is still visible

The above screenshot shows the UCM I/O Monitor visible after pressing Show.

The Event Box next to the Login window shows the most recent alarm event, eg Night Mode by User01 in the above screenshot

Each time you write to Comfort, the cclx file is automatically backed up.

You can restore by selecting from multiple backups in File > Restore from Backup

In Security > Sign in Codes, there are buttons to Write User Codes and Read User Codes, without needing to go to Write to Comfort or Read from Comfort

Comfigurator 3.8.7  can be downloaded from http://www.cytech.biz/comfigurator.html

Please upgrade to Comfort firmware 7.057 (or above), as older firmware may have extra keypads 9 to 15 appearing after a scan

This is a minor update which fixes some bugs and introduces some useful features
The changes are

Known Bugs
  1. Read User Codes does not work
  2. Cbus1 actions which are not in the Lighting application are not converted correctly to Cbus2
  3. When UCM/CBUS1 has been upgraded to UCM/CBUS2, opening the cclx file may give a message "UCM/CBUS1 Actions have been converted to UCM/CBUS2. Please write to Comfort" even though the actions have been converted. The problem is that the response source was not being regenerated when a CBUS1 action occurred within an If or Else block. The workaround is to open the Cbus Responses in Response Wizard, which will regenerate the Cbus2 actions correctly
  4. Extra keypads 9 to 15 may be detected after a scan using Comfigurator 3.8.7 to 3.8.8. This happens if the scan is done after initialisation. Go to File > Update Defaults to update the default files (This needsan internet connection) Also you can upgrade to ULT 7.057 which does not have this problem
  5. Options > Default KT03 Template causes  an exception
Bug fixes
  1. Fixed bug inserting Else condition in the middle of nested If/Then actions in Response Wizard
  2. Fix reporting problem in the new Event Window (Comfigurator 3.8 only) with "Line Cut - Controller" reporting as Line Cut User #15

New Features
  1. Modify format of CBUS2 actions for Enable and Trigger Applications, and added Custom Application
  2. Display warning to Write to Comfort if CBUS1 actions have been converted to CBUS2 after a firmware upgrade from UCM/CBUS1 to UCM/CBUS2.
  3. Remove Auto-assign ID and Unassign ID options. These were introduced  earlier but are not very useful with he new Scanning for modules feature.
  4. Allow outputs for blinds and thermostats to be referenced elsewhere. Previously blinds and thermostats could not use outputs that were referenced anywhere eg in Responses or where outputs are used as status eg in KT03 and Control menu
  5. Support drag and drop of flags, counters, timers and sensors. The Responses or references like Cbus or KNX mappings are automatically changed
  6. Support > 8 keypads where relevant.

Please take note of bugs recently found in 3.8.7

Please upgrade to Comfort firmware 7.057 (or above), as older firmware may have extra keypads 9 to 15 appearing after a scan

Also In Comfigurator, go to File > Update Defaults
You need to have an Internet connection

This should update the defaults from the server
Then open the file again and scan for all modules

Known Bugs
  1. Read User Codes does not work (from 3.6.5)

There may be  a problem in 3.8.7
If there are phantom keypads numbered 9 to 15,  the iomap.cym  file have not been updated

In Comfigurator, can you go to File > Update Defaults
You need to have an Internet connection

This should update the defaults from the server
Then open the file again and scan for all modules

Comfigurator 3.8.7 may have a problem where Keypads 9 to 15 appear during a Module scan. Keypads 9 to 15 are supported in ULT 7.053

The extra phantom keypads appear if the scan is done immediately after comfort is reset

Do not write to Comfort when there are these extra keypads otherwise there wil be many communications failure alarms

Doing another scan after about 30 seconds should make the extra keypads disappear

If not manually delete the keypads 9 to 15 by right clicking and seleting delete keypads

This problem has been fixed in ULT 7.056 (beta). That new firmware will not cause extra keypads to appear after a scan

Comfigurator 3.8.8 is available
Please upgrade to Comfort firmware 7.057 (or above), as older firmware may have extra keypads 9 to 15 appearing after a scan
This mainly fixes some bugs

Known Bugs
  1. Cbus1 actions which are not in the Lighting application are not converted correctly to Cbus2
  2. Extra keypads 9 to 15 may be detected after a scan using Comfigurator 3.8.7 to 3.8.8. This happens if the scan is done after initialisation. Go to File > Update Defaults to update the default files (This needs an internet connection) Also you can upgrade to ULT 7.057 which does not have this problem
  3. RIO Input and Output status are initially shown by checking the "show status" box, but subsequent changes in RIO input and outputs are not updated
  4. User Mode > Dial Test does  not work if the keypad name is changed. The old keypad name is used in the dial test so cannot be found
  5. Options > Default KT03 Template causes  an exception
  6. Function Blinds > Show References do not work
  7. Keypad volume change does not get selected in "Selective Write".
  8. Lutron commands for use in General and Universal UCM have error when more than 1 control Unit is specifed
Bugs Fixes
  1. Fixed Bug where ucm/Cbus1 upgraded and converted to UCM/Cbus2 may cause Comfigurator to give a message that "Cbus1 actions have been converted to Cbus2 actions" even though the actions have already been converted to the new UCM/Cbus2 format
  2. Fixed Bug from Comfigurator 3.6.5 where Read User Codes did not work
  3. For UCM/Cbus2, Importing a cbz file caused duplicate group addresses to be imported. Now there will be a popup box allowing selection of one Cbus network only

There is an isue with recent versions of Comfigurator or Wizcomfort. CCLX files created with recent versions of comfigurator can not be opened by wizcomfort. Wizcomfort says error opening configuration file. Error reading file D:\...........CCLX. There is an error in XML Document (3305,6).

Ingo

This was because some cbus1 actions were Trigger application and this was not converted correctly. Only lighting was specifically supported
The same would happen with enable

Wizcomfort is supposed to be replaced by User Mode in Comfigurator which will continue to be enhanced.

The original intention of wizcomfort was to run on a wall mount windows screen but that idea is no longer viable. The look is outdated now.

Also we have separate apps for iPad, iPhone, Android Tablet and Android Phone. The  android phone and tablet apps are being revamped see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum110/3804.html and http://www.comfortforums.com/forum110/3810.html

I also recommend the excellent ComfortClient, see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum65/ which is very good value for money and  very powerful. It should be able do all of Wizcomfort functions and more

Hi
I have just upgraded to Cbus 2 and all is well apart from triggerin Cbus 1 to trigger a group I would put in

Cbus RampInst UCM-Cbus 150 255 202
 which gave
197,19,150,2,15,253,202, 255

this was converted by Comfigurator 3.8.8 to

Cbus2 UCM-Cbus 202 150 2,0
which gave
197,19,5,202,0,2,150,0, 255
which didnt triggger the group

so I put 255 in and I get told that Invalid Action Selector: Cbus2 UCM-Cbus 202 150 2,255

So I put in 254 and it all works fine i.e. it turns the light on in a cbus switch configured for trigger group BUT It doesnt work in Homegate or Ctouch software that needs a trigger of 255
is this a bug with Configurator 3.8.8

The rest all looks great so far
Congratulations to you all for the hard work which must have gone into this
Mike

Try 197,19,5,202,0,2,150,15,253,255.

This is Instantaneous Ramp to 255. Seems Comfigurator does have an issue converting them. I am also waiting for the next release.

Thanks but Comfigurator still says
Invalid Action Selector:Cbus2 UCM-Cbus 202 150 2.255
I used
Edit Action Codes
197,19,5,202,0,2,150,15,253,255

I think Comfigurator doesn't like 255 in the trigger group.

I'm not a CBus expert but isn't 121 the code for ON?

The conversion of cbus actions from cbus1 to 2 works only with the lighting application
This should be fixed in the next comfigurator

The Trigger Application uses the 'Instant Ramp' and not the 'Switch On' command. 'On' will probably work but it's not in the Cbus spec.

Julian is right, I was thinking of the Enable Control application. Because the Trigger Application is compatible with the Lighting application it accepts On|Off and Ramp commands. It is however advised NOT to use a Ramp Over X Seconds so Yes, On|Off and Instantaneous Ramp will all work.
