When disarming, the volume level is ignored and "security off" appears to be played back at a loud volume. Thereafter, all other functions are at the correct volume.

This can also be changed

There are two types of volume settings. The Volume slider on the KT03 settings page sets the volume of the individual KT03 voice menu

There is a common volume setting for announcements for all keypads. This is found in Configuration > Voice Settings > Keypad Voice level This affects all announcements, like Security Off, Night Mode and the arming beeps.

Reduce this volume by moving the slider to the left (smaller mumber) to reduce this announcement volume

Yes, this does work somewhat but wouldn't it be easier for just one Master volume control like on the other keypads? Setting the Voice level even down to 0 could still be too loud for some people, especially if the KT03 is in a bedroom.

The speaker can be turned off completely in the Volume Settings page so all announcements and voice wil be silent

Otherwise setting the common announcement volume can reduce the announcements level to a minimum volume

Having separate controls is useful because you may want the voice menu to be quiet  but announcements like security off may need ti be heard

I've tried setting the volume in Configuration > Voice Settings > Keypad Voice level right down to 1, but it appears to make no difference to the volume of Security Off. Despite me setting it to 1, at 7am, it was still very loud and 'scared' my 4 year old daughter (her words) !

Did you reset Comfort after changing the "Keypad volume" settings? You can reduce it down to 0
It will not be silent bit it definately is much softer. Certainly should not be loud enough to scare a 4 year old girl

Make sure it is Keypad Voice Level that you are changing., Try to change it to 0 and see if there is any difference in volume of Security off and announcements
Also listen on other keypads, do you hear the volume change>?

Here is my solution. I set everything to default so that keypad voice and announcements are exactly the same volume. I then scratched around in my parts bin and found a small potentiometer and put that into the speaker line and voila, now I can set the volume to what sounds good to me.

The reason I decided to do this is that I rarely change the volume of my keypads after they have been in use for a while, I sortoff get a 'sweetspot' of volume level and then I never change it. In this case if I ever wanted to change it then I just remove the bezel, change it and be done with it.

Simple yet effective.

Ttry changing the Keypad volume to 20 and see if it becomes louder
The volume affects all keypads remember

There is a better solution for disabling the announcements on KT03

Each keypad including the KT03 can disable announcements on its own speaker using the Program Menu 3,1 for Voice report. Press 1 for On to enablel announcements, 0 for Off to disable announcements. Each keypad has its own disable/enable announcement setting which must be programmed at the individual keypad itself

This does not affect the voice menu volume when you sigjn in on the keypad

The limitation with this method is that when the keypad is reset, the setting becomes enabled again

A better way is to use the action in Response Wizard under the Keypad category
"Keypad N Broadcast Disable" where N is keypad ID 1 to 8

Create a Response and assign it to the Startup Response so it comes into effect when Comfort is Reset

In future this willl be made into a setting on KT03 setup screen to make it simpler to configure

Amendment to the above post already made
The Disable Keypad Announcements Response can be assigned to the Startup Response so that the KT03 or any keypad can have its Announcements disabled at reset
