I have a Universal UCM with RS-232 that I'm interfacing to a small network of Lutron Grafik Eyes.  The "Lutron" Command Type doesn't seem to work with all the features I need (might be for other Lutron kit?) so I'm configuring it directly myself.

I can happily set scenes via "commands to device" panel and this is working well.Every time the scene is changed on the Lutron, including via local wallstations within the Lutron network, the Lutron Serial Gateway reports to comfort a change in scene using the following message:
\n:ss 11MMMMMM
The "\n:ss "means scene change message with the following number/letter representing the selected scene on each Grafik Eye.  This is up to eight units with one character each,  "0-9 and A-G" indicates the scene,  with "M" meaning the dimmer is missing - e.g. not on the network.
Thus the message above means Dimmers 1 and 2 are both selected to scene 1,  and there isn't dimers 3-8.

Thus the following messages means
1) "\n:ss GGMMMMMM" - dimmers 1 and 2 are on scene 16
2) "\n:ss 00MMMMMM" - dimmers 1 and 2 are on scene 0
3) "\n:ss 20MMMMMM" - dimmers 1 is on scene 4 and dimmer 2 is on scene 0

My aim is to copy the scene selected to a counter,  any ideas if this can be done?  E.g. I would like comfort to know what scene is selected on each dimmer.  I can do this via learning each and every combination and triggering a response for each,  but this will be a lot of combinations and a lot of responses!

Any help gratefully received!

Kind Regards
Simon

The original commands were done using a very old graphic eye may many years ago. Perhaps the commands have changed since then
The device to comfort function is meant to send information to one counter, zone, respone or sensor
You want to have a single message to send values to multiple counters. This is beyond the capability of this mechanism
If there is another command that can send separate commands for each scene then that would be more feasible

Thanks ident. Would it be possible to just map the first dimmer to a counter? E.g. in the message there are 8 dimmers, but only map the first one. They should normally all be in sync so if I can at least know the selected scene of the first I can get the data I need. I can't even seem to map that at the mow!

Have you set the Properties correctly, ie No of Header Bytes, and the header, Parsing method, counter data/field offset ?
This lets the ucm know that the counter data is at which position in the string
In Device to Comfort, Type should be Counter, set the counter number, and use the Learn Mode to receive the scene message

Let me know what you have programmed so far, If you have difficulty we can try to assist.
