- ident - 09-28-2009 we will sort out one tomorrow - ident - 09-29-2009 Bernard We tested 1 FPR here nad found that one of the fingerprint readers had a problem - that the TD+ and RD- on the controller unit was swopped around on the FPR Controller unit. The D11 Green LED on the UCM/Access was permanently on when the JP1 KA/KB is connected, and the led goes off when the terminal block is disconnected When the KA/KB on JP1 is reversed by plugging the terminal block in the reverse direction then the communications between the UCM and FPR started to work. Another FPR that we have here did not have this problem and the TD and RD terminals are correct Can you check if this is the case with your FPR on your bench? The D11 Green LED would be permanent on in this case We will send one correct FPR and UCM to you with the wires intact as we used to test. - technik23 - 09-29-2009 Glad it wasn\'t me. Reversing the KA/KB works! I\'ll test it on another installation this afternoon. Don\'t bother sending another unit until I test all our units. Thanks P.S. Any thoughts on identifying the use in teh log files thread? - ident - 09-29-2009 We will let you try a test firmware soon which allows this - slychiu - 10-02-2009 We have found the problem with the Autostar units There is a DIP switch next to the TD/RD connectors which sets Rs232 or RS485 interface For RS485 1,2,3 should be ON and 4,5,6,7,8 should be OFF. There is small marking on the DIP switch indicating this Hence for the units which you have to reverse the connections, they are actually set to RS232. This may work but there is distance limitation which may have an effect, so you should change the switch settings to RS485 and reverse your KA/KB connections to the original This was not known to us before. We will amend the documentation accordingly |
