- palmlodge - 02-19-2010 Is there any way of easily integrating Comfort / UCM with these plugin modules ? http://www.rfxcom.com/transmitters.htm These are X10 RF modules in reverse - ie they send X10 RF commands to the huge range of devices that are available over Europe. These are immensely cheap to buy and therefore a prime candidate for accelerating home control. - palmlodge - 02-19-2010 Got a response back from RFXCom regards connecting their RS232 to a UCM (without being a special UCM) Because they use 4800, n82 that means the 2 bit stop needs a delay. I understand it is possible for a Comfort ICM to talk at 4800 instead of 9600, but not 2 stop bits. Is there any chance of Comfort\'s logic being able to handle a pause to cope with this ? See below : \"You have to send 5 bytes for an A1-On or A1-Off A1-Off cmd to transmitter=> 20609F20DF http://www.rfxcom.com/documents/RF%20transmitter%20details.pdf see chapter 10 The delay between each transmitted byte on the RS232 interface must be at least 1 stop bit time = about 2 msec. \" - slychiu - 02-19-2010 The regular UCM only works at 9600 baud We have done a special version in which the shunts are used to select baud rate so 4800 is possible I believe the UCMs actually send 2 stop bits instead of 1. a stop bit is just an idle state so it does not cause any problems with a device that is expecting 1 stop bit, but a device that expects 2 stops bits may not be able to handle 1 stop bit We shall see if the special firmware can be done as a firmware upgrade using a UCM |
