- schford - 12-13-2010 Hope someone can advise, I am retrofitting Comfort into my house and hoping to reuse as much of the old alarm system as possible. Have reverse engineered what all the old inputs are with no problems (so far) the only thing that has me stumped is how I can reuse the existing wall mounted external bell / siren. The old alarm is a 9100 which connect to a 9066 SAB BELL MODULE. (Manual and circuit diagram attached). There were orginally 6 wires that fed the external bell.
My Thoughts were that 1 Trig + needs to go to 12VF Strobe C needs to go to STR- (I will use 12v battery to check which Trig+ is which and check when strobe comes on) Other Trig+ needs to go to SRN+ TRIG - Goes to SRN- Ov and Tampter Return I will connect to a zone input Does that sound about right? Cheers Stuart - schford - 12-14-2010 Just to confirm have tested strobe working a OK off a 12v battery using one of the TRIG + and the Strobe C :-) Guess I must be on the right track! - slychiu - 12-14-2010 I believe you are right except that 0V should be connected to COM on Comfort , ie between S12V and 12V terminals which is a 0 V common - schford - 12-14-2010 Whats the difference between the COM between the 12vs and the Com in the Zone? I see I did not phrase it correctly I shoud have said I would connect the Tamper Return to a Zone Input and the Ov to the Zone common - would that work? Cheers Stuart - slychiu - 12-15-2010 COM in 12V and COM between zones is the same Your connection should work |
