Comfort I was produced from 1996 to 2005 and replaced by Comfort II in 2005.
Most of the key electronic components like speech processor and microcontroller have been discontinued. Hence repair of Comfort I products may not be possible.

There are still many thousands of Comfort I systems installed around the world which are more than 10 years old.
