- Home - 11-23-2006 We have just experience 2 doorphones that have had 12V shorted (both now returned). Both units were less than 12 months old, both happened to fail within a couple of weeks of each other. We have had a couple of days of cold weather - just wondering wether these units are part of a batch that may give trouble in increasingly cold weather ........ ALSO both were troublesome in that they caused allsorts of dialouts (see other posts) low battery and security alerts of varous types. - slychiu - 11-24-2006 Which are they DP03 or DP01 or are they DP02? Either way, the PCBs are all conformal coated to prevent water ingestion. Is there a sign of track damage on the PCB? Is there condensation in the cold weather? Cold weather should not cause this to happen - Home - 11-24-2006 PC01-007C BS0347 Label: k17196 Both look in V good condition. - slychiu - 11-24-2006 That date code is from 2003, so I am surprised that you installed only a year ago. Return it through the usual channels so we can take a look at the failure mode |
