- juwi_uk - 09-29-2013 Hi When setting up the Phone Numbers, you can pick various phone types. If I want a number to be able to communicate via phone AND SMS what type should I pick; Phone or SMS? Julian - ident - 09-29-2013 If you want comfort to send SMS and call your phone then you must set both SMS and voice phone types For sending SMS to comfort you need to have the phone number either one of the Teo phone types as one of the 8 numbers - juwi_uk - 09-29-2013 OK Still not clear. If I want both to call my mobile are you saying I need to use two phone entries, both pointing at my mobile number and with one set to \"Phone\" and one to \"SMS\"? J - slychiu - 09-29-2013 Correct Voice phone calls to the mobile number SMS sends sends SMS to the number The 2 numbers can be the same - juwi_uk - 09-29-2013 OK, Thanks Chiu. Could we not have a combined \"Voice/SMS\" type in future firmware\'s to save on having to duplicate? Also surely then the 3 SMS checkboxes should only be editable for a type of \"SMS\" and greyed out for other types? Julian - slychiu - 09-29-2013 No, because you may not want to send SMS to your mobile phone, you may set Voice only for dial out, but you may want to send SMS from that mobile phone - Howser - 09-29-2013 How about (as a possible future feature), instead of the current two options, have three, being;
This will cover all cases, and avoid having a duplicate number. - juwi_uk - 09-29-2013 That\'s what I said too!
- slychiu - 09-30-2013 Unfortunately It is not as simple as adding anther checkbox to comfigurator The system has been designed as 1 phone number with 1 phone type (voice, CMS, SMS etc) There are 8 phone numbers with phone type which can be assigned If one phone number can be assigned many phone types as you suggest then it will will require a big change to the firmware. The voice menu is also involved as that would have to allow you to select different phone types for each phone The data structure in the eeprom wll have to be overhauled Hence it would be simpler to keep using 2 slots for phone and SMS especially as there are 8 phone numbers which should be more than enough for everyone. |
