Hi,
I am after advice on connecting a Texecom Premier Elite Odyssey Bellbox to the comfort control panel. The descriptions don\'t appear to match exactly so I would like to know what the correct connections should be.
I have the following connections available on the Siren:
+12v
Bell
Tamp
0v
Strb-
Zone (x2)
Test
The manual is too large to attach here but it can be found in the link below in case any further clarification is required.

Hi this is quite simple.
I have used this bellbox for many years

+12v to 12vf
   BELL to SRN-
  STRB- to STR-
TAMP to TAMP
    0V to COM

Forget the rest they are for Texecom software diagnostics

Hi Wired home, thank you very much for you quick response.
Some points that I would like clarified if possible:

the 0v to COM - Is that just the standard COM that is between the S12V and the 12V at the bottom of the board?

the TAMP to TAMP does that just get connected as a single cable to the top TAMP connector without the need for an additional cable to complete the circuit?

Is there no where on the comfort to make use of the test cable? if not what is the recommended method for testing the box.

the 0v and tamp are at the top of the board remember to connect them correctly with the Panel Lid tamper in Series

Hi,
Don\'t know the comfort panel - do you know what the SRNTMP jumper is for please?
Can also run the bell tamper into an input to keep it separate from the lid tamper!

The SRNTMP shunt is not used, it was for detecting a disconnected siren and causing a trouble alert, but it was not something that was very useful

Yes you can connect the Bell tamper to any input and program it as a 24 hour zone type

How would that not be useful?? It\'s basically a dedicated bell tamper so why not continue to use this instead of losing an input or putting in series with the lid tamper (which I\'m not saying is wrong BTW).. Smile

I have to check the history but I believe the siren tamper was meant for a certain type of siren in the past, It may not be able to detect a disconnected siren which takes very little current whwen it is not sounding.
A tamper is still the best way

Thanks again for the reply Wired home.
My question regarding the test connection was about the test input/output that is available on this Bellbox.
I would like to know if there is a way of making use of this connection for testing purposes via the Comfort and if so how could it be utilised.
If not my question was, is there a recommended method for testing the bellbox\\strobe?
