We have encountered problems reported in some situations ehere after a power failure (with battery connected), the UCM/GSM does not send the Power Failure Alarm SMS. It also does not send SMS for any alarms which occur after that.  But the GSM signal level shown obn the Status bar of the GSM Module is still OK ie 1 to 4.

If the UCM/GSM is reset, it starts to send SMS again. This may be caused by an issue wih some of the SIMCOM GSM Modules. When there is a voltage drop (caused by power off) dropping to the battery voltage, it causes the GSM module to not work correctly until the module is reset.

The workaround is to add a Response to automatically RESET the UCM/GSM ID (eg UCM #2 if the GSM Module has ID2) as shown below

Next, go to Alarm Type > Power Failure. The Alarm Response should be set to the new Reset GSM Response.  This means that when there is a Power afailure, the UCM/GSM selected by the ID will automatically reset iitself

Power Failure Restore (AC back on) may also cause the same problem. To fix this go to Miscelaneous Events > select AC Restore Response, and select the Reset GSM Response as well. This means that when the Mains Power is restored the Reset GSM response also runs, thus resetting the GSM
