We have a doorphone - press the button, you get a chime - also on the internal siren.
But, after the little one has gone to bed, this is really really loud.
What I need is if in Night Mode, and the doorstation is pressed, the volume is either reduced to the siren, or not sent to the siren at all.
How can this be done ?

Do you mean the doorbell chime to the internal speaker (SPK - terminal)?
There is a trimmer to control the volume of the siren sounds to the internal speaker. It applues only to non alarm sirens - alarm sirens are still at full volume regardless of the position of the trimmer
You can reduce the non-alarm siren volume to an acceptable level
There is no software control of the volume
The other option I could suggest is not to connect the internal speaker if the night time sound is too much of a nuisance

Its a toss-up between an internal siren for alerts (there is no external siren) vs the doorbell noise which is uncontrollable.
The software must be controlling the siren output when the doorbell is pressed ? As you say, if you cant control the volume of the siren alert when the doorbell is pressed, can we at least turn it off in night mode (or elect to) ??
Basically, when in Night Mode, the doorbell and phone ringing are the things id like to quieten down (or disable) to stop waking up the baby !

I suggest you use the Doorbell Response (in Events > Misc) to do the Stop Doorbell action (action 26) if in Night Mode
I am not sure whether you need a short delay eg 1 sec before the stop doorbell action. it depends on which comes first Doorbell Response or the Ringer starting
A 1 second delay would at least make is short
You could also rely on the keypad for all the alerts and silence the internal siren trimmer almost completely. You dont really need the alert beeps everwhere in the house if you have keypads

Action 26 is \'Stop Ringer\' yes ? I already have that happening and it doesnt affect the internal siren.
Ive already ripped out the RGR as I just couldnt see any use for it. I\'d like the RGR to ring ONLY if no one answers the door in xx seconds. If someone has presed the doorbell, and you dont answer the door, THEN notify the house by ringing the phones ? Make sense ?

Not the software fix you were looking for but what about wiring a relay in series with the speaker output? Then you could effectively disconnect the speaker if night and doorphone is pressed. Use an output to drive the relay.

Could a Comfort output cope with this feed ? Without using relays...
