Ethernet Access to Comfort - Confused!

Hi All

I am new to comfort but planning to use it as part of a house renovation and home automation project.

I am very interested in controlling and programming Comfort over the ethernet link but I am confused by the options

Is the UCM01/ETH just a UCM05 + ethernet board?

If I went for the UCM01/ETH can I still use it to learn IR codes?

Is there anything else I would need in order to program Comfort over the ethernet network? Software or Licenses?

UCM/Ethernet is basically a UCM05 + Ethernet board but instead of a RS232 interface it is connected to an Ethernet LAN using TCP/IP protocol. The IR learning is not supported by the UCM/Ethernet. You will need Device Server software to set up the UCM/Ethernet IP address; this is available from our website http://www.cytech-technology.com/software.html
You will also need Comfigurator software to configure your Comfort settings.

Or can I use Pronto codes?

If you buy a new UCM/Ethernet, it consists of a UCM05 and an Ethernet serial to interface module. If you remove the Ethernet module, you are left with a standrad UCM05 with Rs232 interface.
Which interface, RS232 or Ethernet you use is determined by the shunt marked \"232/485\". You can set the UCM as Rs232 interface and use the IR Learner software.

You can also use the IR Learner software to convert Pronto hex codes, without a UCM05
