Below is an extract from my cclx file so it seems to be possible to extract the CBUS commands.

I think my system is way older than yours, I use an old P4 2.8 and it just seems to draw all the graphics in the floorplan editor at a crawl. I don\'t have a fancy graphics card so everything is driven of the onboard card as best as possible. When selecting an object, to edit or move, it takes a couple of seconds before I get control back to edit the properties.

I will be testing your next releases as they come out. The transparency thing actually comes from the Pronto Editor days, when creating a new page you have the option to use a certain colour for background or to make it transparent. Having multiple pictures on top of each other makes things interesting - duplicate everything, just in red and green with a light bulb or something thrown in for good measure.

Hi Ingo

Thanks for that.

As you\'ve seen you can have as many pictures and labels as you like linked to comfort events so as you say you can create different scenarios.  in my example I have \"active\" pictures for \"On\" and \"off\" statuses but there\'s nothing to stop you having a static base plan and then having multiple \"active\" pictures that overlay the respective areas (rooms say) each on the base plan and link them to teh respective on/off state.  For example draw up a compete base plan for the house (on multiple windows in the next version due shortly) with say green (off) background colour then have individual (red) room pictures overlayed on top linked to \"on\" status.  Lots of different ways to build up what you want.

Transparency works the same as you mention in VS 2005 where you set a transparency key for the parent panel, but the same limitation i mentioned before still is the problem.

Rather than add a \"CBUS Tab\" what I might do is set the X10 and Future tabs so that they are \"Custom Tabs\".   You could, via a settings page set the name of the tab (ie CBUS, X10 etc) and then the filter by which you want to filter the responses.  Thus these tabs could be used for any user purpose.   Better than hard coding me thinks.  What do you reckon?

Incidentally, performance considerations accepted, there will be no limit to the number of windows you can create.  I was testing about 20 the other day and performance didnt seem to drop off that much even with my Intel Atom based Eee PC.

What I am going to do though is restructure the keypad/control panel (RHS of screen) at some stage so it fits smaller PC resolutions easier.  The Eee PC has native resolution of 1024 X 600 so want to make it easier to configure for these devices.  It\'s quite nice, I purchased a £80 Linksys SSL VPN router and can now do secure connections over SSL from the internet back to my comfort system.  Stick all of the code on a Flash Drive and you have a great fully portable system.

Regards

Julian

Julian,

I agree, having things configurable is better than hard coded - not everyone uses CBus, ZWave and all the others.

Hmm.. the performce thing might just be me, let\'s see if anyone else experiences similar conditions.

I like the idea to better scale the screen, my medium term project is to get hold of a touch-panel PC for control around the house. Resolutions(effective) starts at 800x600 and then goes up. If I can fit this into smallish 800x600 unit it would be great.
