Anyone interested in beta testing future versions with me?

Ingo has been great in helping to test beta versions of this release as I\'ve drip fed him beta EXE\'s to play with,  many thanks Ingo, much appreciated.  Anyone else interested or have any feature suggestions.

I\'ll start a wishlist thread I think too! Big Grin

Hey all

Sorry about posting this so soon after the other one but I added a few new features which I think people were pushing for so rather than wait a while I thought I'd post the build now.

If you want to upgrade you just need to replace your existing ComfortClient.exe from this distribution.

I've left the scheduled polling at same default settings as previous versions (ie 5mins 0r 30000 ms) and enabled.  Whilst I've done this to preserve backwards compatibility I would suggest setting the \"Enabled\" key to false in the Scheduler1 section of the ComfortClientConfig.xml file as this cuts down on traffic.

Julian

Dear all,

Here is build 1.0.19.3.

Quote:Version 1.0.19.3 - (7 June 2009)

Bug Fixes
 • Improved trapping of duplicate entries in the Window Activity Tab Hover Logs when multiple objects linked to the same Comfort responses.
 • In Floorplan Editor, if the SAVE menu option was used to save changes then the Floorplan would not refresh in the main Client on exit if no other changes were subsequently made.
 • Check for unsaved changes now performed when NEW, OPEN and SAVEAS menu actions performed in the Floorplan Editor.
 • Fixed cursor only changes to hand icon when placed over Floorplan icons having ClickResponses.
 • Slightly revised Control Pad sizing to fit better at 1024x768 with both Keypad and Control Pad are displayed concurrently on Windows 7 (which has deeper taskbar).  800 x 600 is the minimum recommended resolution as achieved using the key/control panel toggle modes.
 • Monitor log window automatically clears when total size of entries reaches 32767 characters.
 • Disable red close “X” button on forms that have multiple exit button choices; CANCEL, OK etc.
 • Re-grade some dialog boxes from Critical “X” to Exclamation “!” status.
 • Floorplan counter (typically %) values are now rounded to nearest integer value.
 • If you save a label with blank value the Editor will now add “…” so you can find again on the Floorplan.  All static labels should obviously have values, but labels where data is replaced by runtime values can have any default text at start (though this will be shown at logged out stage).
 • If Floorplan or Config XML file save operations fail then the previous version of the appropriate XML file will be restored.  No more trashed config files if the save fails part way through.  The Floorplan and Config backup files are the same name as the base xml file but with extensions “FPE” and “CCC” respectively. These will be deleted once the save has completed successfully so you would not typically see these in normal operation.  Note though that is additionally best practice to separately back up your configuration files manually too!
 • Switched Custom Tabs to fire Responses using “R!” rather than “DA”; this is due to DA’s current limitations of max 24 or 36 bytes on Comfort 1 and 2 respectively and ability to support more complex response strings.
 • The Floorplan Editor window will open at the size set at the time it was last saved.
 • Status bar text was not correctly reset from previous SAVE when re-entering Floorplan Editor for edits on subsequent Floorplans.
 • Main Client application now has correct keyboard focus at start up.
New Features
 • ClickResponse Hover over help/messages are now configurable.
 • Control-V and Control-C key combinations are now supported in Floorplan Editor.
 • Custom ClickResponse Action code strings now available. Action Code strings are validated for correct syntax but not content.
 • Template ClickResponses; ZWave and C-BUS initially supported.  Others later or by request.
 • Added individual Object Lock/Unlock.  Locked object edge markers show as red whereas for unlocked they are white. Locked objects cannot be moved, scaled, deleted or moved in z-order plane. Object attributes can be changed whilst locked and they can be copied and pasted (pasted object copies will be set to unlocked).
 • Added bulk actions to lock and unlock all objects.
 • Added colour to Query results in Floorplan Editor to better separate values.

Dear all,

I\'m pleased to post 1.0.19.4.  The main reason is that Ingo noticed that some attributes could be lost when performing object locks and unlocks.  This is fixed together with some other fixes and some new features as listed below.

Version 1.0.19.4 - (14 June 2009)

Quote:Bug Fixes

 • File Settings Form no longer forces a window refresh if the Cancel button is pressed and values are returned to original values.
 • Single and Bulk Unlock/Lock, Bulk Activity Level actions could cause some attribute values to be lost.  Now all attributes are correctly preserved.
 • An exception could be raised with Template ClickResponses if the “Build Action Code” or “Ok” button was pressed when some component values were still blank.
 • Switched Home Control Tab to fire Responses using “R!” rather than “DA”; this is due to DA’s current limitations of max 24 or 36 bytes on Comfort 1 and 2 respectively and ability to support more complex response strings.
 • The splash screen is now displayed for longer to suit faster processors.
 • Window Manager did not correctly reset Settings Changed flag on Cancel Button.
 • Some general low risk code tidying and refactoring.
Quote:New Features

 • UCM type is now also shown in the UCM dropdown list for Click Response Templates.
 • CBUS “Applications” are now selected via a dropdown list.  Custom Applications can also be defined via XML keys in the Floorplan XML file. The setting of Custom Applications will be available via the UI too in future versions.
 • Client will now remember its last (X, Y) screen position. Also will prevent against being placed outside of screen bounds (i.e. when screen resolution changed etc…)
 • Floorplan Editor now remembers its last (X, Y) screen position. Also will prevent against being placed outside of screen bounds (i.e. when screen resolution changed etc…).  Saved on a Floorplan specific basis. Note that you must save the Floorplan for this setting to be changed.
 • In the Floorplan Editor the 4 keyboard arrows can be used to move selected (unlocked) objects.
 • Change:  Scheduler1 has now been changed to remove the automatic re-query of statuses as this is redundant.  Use the manual “REFRESH” button on the keypad if you want to force this at any time (though you shouldn’t have too).  The initial query all statuses on status is still in place.
 • Scheduler1 is now used to perform an automatic save of the Client XML Config file.    This defaults to every 5 minutes though it can be changed in the XML configuration file too. <Scheduler1 Enabled=\"True\" RefreshTime=\"300000\" />
